We selected this hotel because of its location for visiting the citte biance all of which are within easy driving distance.We received a warm welcome. Our room was as requested, at the back of the hotel with a wonderful sun terrace overlooking the valley. However we needed to change rooms because the cistern made a long loud noise each time we used the toilet. We were offered a room at the front but insisted on a room at the back and our request was met.The hotel is just too far to walk in to Cisternino, especially at night , so the owner drove us into town and another staff member brought us back after dinner and repeated this on our second night.We are used to slightly softer beds than this hotel provided and did not therefore sleep that well.We could not have wished for more helpful/friendly staff however and the price was extremely good.

I have just stayed at Hotel Aia Del Vento for two weeks on a Global Volunteer excursion. I cannot say enough good things about my experience. The entire staff is friendly, sincere and always ready to be of service. The food! I don't think I have had finer food anywhere. The breakfast buffet offers so many, many choices. Even over a two week stay I could not possible have tasted all that was offered. The dinners were excellent from the vegetables to the meat and seafood and the fresh fruit. Each night was a wonderful culinary experience. I do heartily recommend the hotel for its wonderful hospitality and accommodations.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our holiday, in early June, and 1 night at the end. The hotel is located just outside the small town of Cisternino and is convenient for visiting, amongst other places, the ‘white towns’, Alberobello with its trulli and the baroque town of Lecce. It is also convenient for the airports at Brindisi and Bari.

We booked the accommodation ourselves, by email, and found the whole process very straightforward.

Giovanna (on reception) and all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They were very patient and encouraging with our attempts to converse in Italian – a useful asset in this part of Italy.

Our air conditioned rooms, which overlooked the Valle D’Itria, were spacious and immaculately clean, as were the en-suite facilities. The buffet breakfasts provided were excellent and ample. Although the restaurant was not open whilst we were there, the staff on reception were able to advise on restaurants in Cisternino and were willing to book tables for us. Although other reviewers have walked into the town we decided that, in the dark, it would be the safer to drive, since there is no continuous footpath alongside the road. The night manager was always very willing to serve drinks from the bar on our return from dinner.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aia del Vento and we recommend it highly.

The service encountered at the Aia Del Vento was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble for the helpful and friendly staff and our room was spotless. The only drawback was that the restaurant wasn't open during our visit but eating out presented no problem. We were even given a lift into town one evening so that we could have a drink! Our room was spacious, immaculately clean and air conditioned. A small balcony meant that we could enjoy our generous and delicious breakfasts al fresco. Cisternino is a pleasant and interesting small town with a couple of good restaurants. Providing you are adventurous you won't go hungry. There are numerous 'worth a visit' towns in this area that will keep you busy for a week and beyond although tourism doesn't seem as well developed as in other parts of Italy and it will probably help if you speak a bit of Italian. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing and 'slow' holiday.
