Though I use TripAdvisor religiously to vet hotels before I go on trips, sometimes I wonder why I bother when I stay in places which are fine that inexplicably get shredded to pieces by some reviewers.

I arrived late (11pm) and stayed here overnight prior to an early morning flight out of Munich. The lady at reception was courteous though reserved which is fine by me (I don't need to someone to ask me how my day went) and the room itself was clean, functional and included a TV and bathroom (toilet plus shower). In addition, wireless internet was free which is fantastic - I am staying at the Mayflower Renaissance in Washington in August and I have to pay for it!? All this for €33 is simply unbeatable. The only thing which maybe an issue is getting from point a to b if you don't have a car, which I did.

Reading many of the reviews of this hotel, we were worried about our short stay. We had chosen this hotel for our last night in Germany because it was inexpensive and near the airport. However we had nothing to worry about - this is an excellent choice for short stays particularly before or after a flight. There is free parking, several restaurants within walking distance, clean moderate rooms of ample size (we had four suitcases). The staff was efficient and helpful. We liked the breakfast, free wifi and off the road location also. All in all a good value for the money spent.

First, we couldn't find the hotel. It's not really that close to the airport when you are trying to find it at night and the streets are poorly marked. The hotel is very noisy - the floors creaked so much that every time someone walked down the hall the sound reverberated around the rooms. The TV was tiny and mounted near the ceiling so you couldn't see it. This didn't bother us too much but the plumbing in the shower that didn't work bothered us a lot. Breakfast was OK but not refilled very quickly and when we went to check out the credit card machine was down. They wanted us to use a debit card instead. We did and it all worked out OK, but it made us very nervous. All in all a substandard experience considering what excellent places we'd been staying in the rest of our trip. Thought it wise to book into a hotel near the airport due to getting in to Munich late in the day in preference to chance that plane landed later than scheduled and left me at an airport some 40km outside of Munich! Next time will try another in the vicinity if I get another late flight. Glad I decided on a taxi to the hotel as the S-Bahn stop (although stated as being in Hallbergmoos) was way out of town. Hotel was sadly just a little run down, bathroom needed sprucing up, cracked shower door with hole in it. Walls thin and no sleep due to having to endure loud (snoring) neighbor in next room. TV in room was microscopic also and couldn't see picture well as a result! Not again, sadly!
