“Comfy bed, very basic, good breakfat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2011

VERY cheap hotel. First impressions - check in friendly but building looks like concrete prison clock with staircases etc on outside of building! hmmm. No lifts. We were on top floor (2nd) and could see England from our window! Room VERY basic and small. reasonably clean. Bed comfy and a good sleep was had by the 3 of us - a bonus after a 465 drive from the ile de re. . decor basic and a bit tatty. On industrial estate close to McDonalds and Buffalo Grill!! we arrived quite late at 8.45 pm but there was still a receptionst on duty who spoke good english and was very helpful. We had an evening meal at Buffalo Grill 100 yards away which was actually very good . steaks, burgers etc. yee ha! great if you have kids. VERY popular with locals . we queued for 10 mins but it is a big place and will fit you in. We had the breakfast in the premier class which was buffet style and adequate at about 5 euros each. Hotel is about 2 miles from town centre so not easy to go in for an evening out....dont think I would stay there again though ....

“cheap and cheerful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

Conveniently positioned, just off motorway, very cheap @ 29 euros + 4.8 euros for a basic breakfast.

Stayed there at the start of our holiday and on our return. We had to change the room offerred as it was "tired" and in need of decoration, with a very strong smell of stale smoke. Other rooms ok - very small and virtually the same size as a ferry cabin. But we got there at 21.30 and left at 8.30 so all we wanted was a clean room with a comfy bed and a shower room/wc and a reasonable breakfast. Thats what you get - nothing more.

“Easy to find, nice and clean but basic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

We arrived mid afternoon for a 1 night stay, the check in was good.

We paid 44 Euro for the night for a family room, the room was compact with a bunk bed over the top of the double bed and a small shower room.

It was all nice and clean, there was a TV with BBC news and lots of other channels, just up the road (5 min drive) there was a large out of town shopping centre with a huge hypermarket.

With 2 minutes of the hotel was a McDonalds (YUK) or a Buffalo Grill, we opted to drive into the town and eat within the walls of the old town which was good and our grandson enjoyed running around the ramparts of the town.

Breakfast was 4.80 Euro each for the adults and the children were free and you could eatr as much as you wanted, a little disappointed that there were no Croissants.

The only other minor point was that there were no soaps or shampoo's in the shower room, luckily we had brought our own and the walls were very thin and the kids next door kept us awake until gone midnight.

We would stay here again.

“premiere no-classe!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2008

paid 70 Euros for two nights so not expecting too much. The onle problems we came across was the room door would not lock, therefor we had totake our belongings with us.This was reported but unfortunately ignored. There was also very bad damp. It stated sattelite T.V but not in room 37!! Tried the 4.5e breakfast, it consisted of baby food, plain yougurt, stale bread and soggy cornflakes, hey but the coffee tasted great. All in all if I were to revisit the area I would probably fork out an extra 50 euros and stay at a hotel in the main town as it was a fair trek to and from the town.Average meal in town 40 euros. Beer 5-6 euros. Wine 15 Euros.

“A mixed experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2008

At this money (41 euros for a triple) you don't expect much more than 3 beds squashed into a small space and a small but adequate bathroom. In those respects, we got what we expected but in other respects this hotel was not up to standard.
On the positive side, we were pleasantly surprised to find a satellite channel TV but disappointed that it didn't have the English channels boasted about on the notice affixed to the wall.
Also, we were able to gain access to the room at 2:00pm by paying by credit card and collecting a door code at a machine mounted on the external wall.
Another plus was the very cheap breakfast, which was effectively an all you can eat and drink cold buffet including cereal, yoghurt, bread, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
On the negative side, the room was very badly cleaned: there were cigarette ends and a lump of unidentifiable substance in the toilet; the sink and its surrounds were obviously uncleaned; there was a puddle of water and an empty chesebox under the bed; there was some litter in the room.
Also, while the sheets seemed clean, the beds were poorly made.
We were woken at 2:15am by a group of people carrying out a loud conversation somewhere near the door to our room. Not only that but there were young children with them who were kicking a ball around, which occasionally hit the door! This went on for some time!
So, a mixed experience.
