My partner and I stayed at the Marne-la-Vallee Kyriad in August 2010 as booked with Gold Crest Disneyland holiday.
Admittedly this had been my partner and I's first trip abroad. We had researched it quite a bit before leaving and after reading many reviews we didn't set our sights very high. However, I was pleasantly surprised. For a 2* hotel it was lovely. We had a room pretty much above the entrance (room 112) with a view of the car park, but it wasn't so bad. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful and spoke good English.
The room itself was fairly basic, but I wasn't expecting much more. All that was important to me was that it was clean and tidy. Which it was. The tea and coffee facilities were plentiful and restocked everyday, as were the bathroom toiletries and towels. There was a distinct lake of storage space for clothes, no clothes and tiny wardrobe but we lived out of our case anyway. The room had a hairdryer, a television (although no English channels), tea/coffee facilities, shower/bath. The only complaint I really had was that the pillows were awfully flat and the noise levels from the hallway were fairly high. We were woken for the first 2 mornings from people outside our room so invested in ear plugs and slept fine the rest of the holiday.
The breakfast was lovely, continental. With cereals, toast, pastries, fruit, yogurts, ham and eggs. That sort of thing. A bit of a cooked breakfast wouldn't go a miss though. I found the evening menu to be quite expensive and the food was very... adventurous. Not what I expected form a Kyriad. Might be to other people's tastes but not really mine.
The best thing about the hotel was the location. It was fantastic. There was a huge shopping centre literally across the road, filled with shops for everyone and a supermarket. Across the road the other way a metro station and a little beyond that over the bridge was a sort of complex full of restaurants and places to eat. Fabulous. Also, when we were exploring we found a gorgeous little scenic area which we decided to take a little picnic to. It was beautiful. The hotel is also only a 20 minute drive from Disneyland.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay the Kyriad Marne-la.Vallee. Of course this was last year, things could be different now but it was lovely then.
