Based on the ratings, we expected more. My family was traveling to Paris and our party had a total of two rooms. The rooms were positively in disrepair - they had large plaster patch areas all over the walls and were in need of paint. I felt as we had walked into the middle of a renovation. The rooms also smelled of smoke. Beds were atrociously uncomfortable. The bathroom hadn't been renovated in at least 40 years, thus moldy and completey out of date.

However, the reception area was very nice and breakfast was outstanding. It was as if we had stayed at two different hotels. The public area was from 2010, the sleeping rooms from 1960. Who knew?
Even though we only used the hotel for a quick stop-over, it was not up to 2 star standard. We won't use again.

I stayed at the Kyriad Torcy with my partner in August 2010. It was booked as part of a long weekend break by coach with Gold Crest.

We realised that the hotel is a 2 star at best and so didn’t set our expectations too high, and of course it’s possible that there has been a refurbishment since then. If there hasn’t, there needs to be.

We had a room at the back of the hotel, overlooking the car park. There was very little wardrobe space, no drawers for storage, and with a double and single bed in there just for the two of us, there was very little space to move around. The room was basic but clean and reasonably comfortable, but the bathroom left something to be desired. It wasn’t exactly dirty, but the tiles were covered in black mould at the top of the wall, and that was very offputting.

Breakfast was basic and operated on a rota system, which can be a little difficult when you’ve an organised trip which leaves at a certain time. We found staff to be very critical (shouting at people) if anyone strayed from the rota (which we didn’t, I hasten to add).

Generally speaking we found the staff to be quite offhand. There was supposed to be a bar but you had to ask at reception and a member of staff seemed to grudgingly go off to get your drinks. They also kept the outer doors locked and you could sometimes wait for quite a while before they had time to let you in. They just seemed unhelpful and rarely smiled or made you feel welcome, no matter how polite you were to them.

The location is good for Disneyland. Again we had an organised trip but got the metro back…it was easy and the stop is just across the road from the hotel. There are also two shopping centres in walking distance with plenty of eating places. The centre of Paris is further away but again, it was all organised for us.

We loved Paris and would definitely go back. Sorry to be negative in places but the one thing that struck us was that a lot of the locals were very rude. Maybe it’s just a cultural thing…the Brits queue and the French don’t? I’ve no idea, but that was the one thing that spoiled it for us. Not that it puts us off, we just try to keep our sense of humour and go with the flow. However, we wouldn’t stay at the Kyriad Torcy again, we’d stay more central and in a better standard hotel. We’d also fly, the coach journey was a killer! Having said that, the Gold Crest staff were good and we had the same two drivers with us the whole time.

this hotel was great, it was spotlessly clean, had a bath in the bathroom which was fantastic, the receptionists were very helpful and polite, its in a fantastic location in terms of its closeness to disney land, it is three metro stops away and drops you right at the front gates of disneyland. the only thing is the tram gets very busy at night when everyone is leaving disney at eleven, so its probably best to leave a bit earlier. in the surrounding area there are two shopping centers, which are a five minute walk away. in one of the shopping areas there is a strip of restaurants which is fantastic if you dont want to eat in the hotel. we ate in an indian restaurant that was really lovely, the food was delicious and the service was really good, i cant remember the name to recommend it but its worth looking for if you visit. the only thing is it is a bit of a distance from the center of paris if you want to visit all the typical tourist attractions, but if you dont have kids or a lot of luggage its fine, the trip in takes less than forty minutes.

overall i would definitly recommend this hotel for its service, cleanliness and proximity to disneyland. well worth the 55 euro we paid for the night.

We took a daily room for five here, 2 adults and 3 children, the room had everything we required, it was clean and comfortable, 5 minute walk to train station and 2 stops from Disneyland Paris, excellent location and value for money, would definitely stay again, don't be put off by outside appearance of hotel, it's brilliant for Disney on a budget.
