“the best in Gokarna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Even if you are not a yoga practitioner, you can take the occasion to try here! I enjoyed Oliver's yoga lesson in the morning and his good German organization! The place is really well kept, and the bungalows are spacious and clean. Oliver is a very nice host, we had some long chat on his life in India and around the world. He also helped us to get a taxi from Goa airport to Gokarna at a correct price. The price of the bungalow is a bit over the Indian standard, but the bungalow is also cleaner and everything is working! and but the possibility to book in advance and to pay with paypall (so that you don't have to use your rupees there) make it worthy to spend a bit more.
The position in Kudle beach is very convenient: it is a calm spot (more relaxing than Gokarna or Om beach) but you can easily take a 15-minutes walk to the village.

“Relaxed to the max at Yoga Jungle Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Myself, my parents and grown up sister spent a wonderful 4 days staying at the beautiful Namaste Yoga Farm in December. The farm, run by the lovely Oliver and his sweet wife Luisa had a homely feel from the moment we stepped into the jungly (but very well kept) gardens of the farm and Oliver swung down from his tree house to greet us. They have around 7 cabins to let out on the farm, and we took too of these. They all seem to have their own individual touches - the cabin my sister ad I took had a little balcony veranda and my parents had an inside yoga platform. The rooms were simple, but clean with good mosquito nets on the beds and nice colourful curtains homemade from lunghis. Although the rooms were clsoe togehther you feel like you have your own space because there are so many plants on the farm and windy little path that takes you through them.

In the morning we would get up and do Oliver's popular yoga class at his outdoor, but covered studio. As someone who does a lot of yoga, with my mother who does bits and bobs and my sister who has never practiced Olivers class was something we could all do together as he takes you through asanas and pranaymas very clearly but always gives you options to make things a little harder if you want. He focuses a lot on breathing technique and deep relaxation. The classes are every morning of the week and as guests of the farm you pay just a donation. The yoga would be followed by our absolute favourite breakfasts made by Luisa - real espresso coffee(!) and a huge helping of delicious cinnamon and coconut muesli with fruit and curd. The perfect way to start your day before you head down the little rocky path to Kudle beach (5-10 mins walking) for a day of sun sea and sand. Although we would only spend our mornings at the farm we would see many people coming and going as well as intense 5 hour chess session on thursday afternoon which Oliver runs weekly.

All in all, we had a great stay here and I would highly recommend it to other travellers going to Gorkarna who want to go slightly more upmarket from the beach shacks and who want to feel they are staying in a green bubble of health, holism and happiness. The hospitality we received was second to none.

Room Tip: Bring a torch for the night time walk back from the beach, the path is barely lit!

I just read some reviews and I dont want to repeat much of that stuff - but: YES - its a very good place to stay and YES - its not cheap. But YOU have the Choice!!! Nobody forces you to stay there. And I really dislike when people play the victim role and use this platform to take revenge for their own wrong decisions.
From my own point: I was happy to book a reasonable place in advance via internet, I was one week over there and payed about 2000 Rs per night, but with a rate of about 850 € for the flight, I think 100 € more or less in a week will not kill me, if I only have 2-3 weeks for a holiday. If I would stay for months I also would look for cheaper places. But my need for a reliable, friendly and clean accomodation and nice and 100% cooparative people will always bring me again over there to Oliver and Luisa!

We prebooked here as time was running short and I hadn't been to gokarna for 11 years. The fact that payment was in euros and had to be done via paypal concerned me, as there is only one reason for that. Also the title of the host,"swamiji", had my husband, who is Indian, not knowing whether to laugh or cry! We arrived in gokarna 4 days earlier than planned so stayed at the sister lodgings, namaste, which we found excellent and less than half the price, so were pretty irked to find Mr. Olivier's accommodations only slightly better. True, the setting is beautiful, but it is a fair walk to the beach and there are no tea/ coffee facilities available on sight. It was plain to us that this establishment is a European profit making enterprise based
on visitors not really being aware of what else is available, and who are unfamiliar with India.
We won't be visiting again.

“Nice place”

We spent 10 days in Namaste Yoga Farm with our 2 daughters (2 & 4 years old). It's a very nice place close to the beach (5 minutes by walking), but in a quiet, beautiful and green garden.
Cottages are large and clean. Amit (the man who takes care of you) is a very nice person and always helpful.
