“Exceeded my expectations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2010

On reading most reviews I got the idea this resort would be average, just a place to spend the night while making the most of the beach. But I was mistaken. Sure, the resort is old. But we can see they have made many improvements. Our room was great. On the ground floor, with a sea view, as most rooms are. We could hear the waves at night. We had a great, firm mattress and a LCD TV in our room with cable. The room was very clean and they made up our bed with clean sheets everyday (although I thought that was unnecessary). The gardens were also kept impeccable. At night dinner was also great. With a wide variety of meat and fish dishes. Every other night they would make fresh baked pizza and bring it round to the tables. On our last night they had a "rodizio" of grilled meats which was delicious. The breakfast buffet was also good.
And then of course the beach... which is really marvelous. Kids can play safely and even take a dip at will. The waters are calm and warm and full of fish that come to your hand expecting to be fed. There were plenty of sun beds and shade. We had lunch on the beach everyday day.
And yes, the entertainment staff is young but the kids seemed thrilled. They were always asking us to participate but we would rather just lay in the sun. It got me thinking how hard it is to get any activity going when eveyrone would just rather get off the hook.
I really enjoyed my stay.

“Wonderful beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2009

The hotel itself is not a luxury, it is simple. But the room is in front of the beach and when you wake up just from the bed you can see the beach.
One thing I found not good is the poor choices of eating and drinking menu.
Again about the beach: it is very beautyful calm and cristal clear water. I have stayed in porto de galinhas luxury resorts and I think this one worths if you want to enjoy a nice beach frontroom and relax by the sea.
Be careful, the other resorts and more confortable and luxury but you must stay inside the hotel area and just by the pool because the beach is not good to swim and most of parts are dangerous. If you are searching for a nice vacation at the beach this is the place.

“The beach is amazing. And that's all.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2009

The hotel is nowadays called "Serrambi Resort", as it's no longer managed by Ventaclub.
The hotel has an amazing localization, right in front of "pontal do serrambi", an amazing beach, ideal to snorkelling and the hotel offers trips to nice scuba diving spots.
The common areas of the hotel are beautiful and the gardens are well cared.
The rooms are spacious and has only brazilian cable TV, no international channels. The mattress is old and not queen size. The cleaning should be better.
The bathroom has a nice shower, but is not well preserved.
The hotel offers breakfast and dinner, but it's amazing how the food in dinner is really worst than in the breakfast. The dinner's variety of food is really low, compared to the breakfast.
The staff needs training urgently.
I would recommend it only because the beach in front of the hotel is amazing and it's really difficult getting there if you're not a guest in the hotel.

“Decadent!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2009

Decadent is the least I can say. It has what it takes to be excellent: exuberant Nature, privileged location… but is bad in the most essencial: service. Rooms: do not expect to find what you’ve seen on the website. Clean but not well cared, rusty beds, apparent nails under the mattress, awful rollaway bed’s mattress. Food: is a buffet restaurant, low variety, nothing but pizza, cake, tapioca and French fries as appetizers, every single day. The cocktail drinks are limited to half a dozen, prepared under no pattern; each barman does it in his way. Be careful with the disposable forks and knives by the pool: THEY ARE REUSED. The dishes are badly washed and cracked in their majority. Inside the restaurant, there are two grills, leading to a very greasy and slipping floor. Children’s Amusement: there’s one pitiful woman who, without any material or training, spends a few hours a day with the children, by herself, on the playground or on the beach, under the sun, considering that there’s not enough umbrellas. On the beach: the music is just shameful, old school ball… who’s going to Pernambuco to hear Elis Regina? Nothing against her, but it just doesn’t match! Does not even remind what you expect from a front sea resort. Too many broken chairs, rusty umbrellas… The amusement team is the ten minutes team. Any activity they plan is about this long, and everyday they are the same…! All of these without mentioning the absolutely annoying simultaneous translation, due to the huge amount of Italian tourists: everything is said twice, once in Portuguese, once in Italian, even in the night time presentations, another pitiful aspect. Theatre performances with cleft old costumes. A shame…!
