Having just returned from celebrating my 50th with a large group of friends at Assynt House I have nothing but praise for the house and for Graham and Elizabeth who run it after restoring it into a beautiful, comfortable and charming home. All bedroms and public areas have been restored to a superb standard with great attention to detail and a style that is both impressive and welcoming. I loved the fact that Assynt has not been 'styled' to within an inch of it's life and hence the architectural features and setting are shown off to best effect. More impressive than the house itself and its wonderful location is the outstanding customer service delivered by both Graham and Elizabeth for whom looking after guests clearly comes naturally both whilst in residence but also in planning a trip. Elizabeth never tired of my numerous questions and was always most efficient and courteous in answering them and in providing necessary information and tips. Graham is an excellent cook and provided a superb 50th birthday meal for us, showcasing the best Scottish produce available. Tina the housekeeper also did a superb job in keeping the house in pristine condition and in sharing her knowledge of the area with us.
All in all, a fabulous venue in which to celebrate or simply relax with family or friends.
