“What an amazing dump!!”

I arrived at the "hotel" hoping the Tudor style exterior did not match the interior. I am pleased to say it didn't thanks to whoever decorated the place back in the 60s! After searching for a member of staff through a grotty pub with a stale smell, i was met with a member of staff that could share the same description who kindly showed me to my squat. Rotten sink, single glazed window , horrible decor, dirty duvet, cold room and a tv I thought was a mini fridge it was that old. I stayed out as long as I could to avoid hOtel but eventually had to sleep. Lying in bed with the portable heater shining in my face I have to admit I was a bit scared ...i was pleased to be calmed with the noise and talking from rooms next to me that kept me company. Being glad to leave a hotel is never a good sign. However in the morning I couldn't leave for a days trip without going to the toilet. The shared bathroom was the worst place I have ever seen circa 1970s with rotten tiles etc . I was only glad to leave a thankyou for my stay so took an amazing dump in the toilet...looked more appealing than hotel.

“Diabolical hotel, would not stay again.”

The rooms were filthy, and you could hear the people in the next rooms as though they were in with you. We complained on leaving to the owner , whose attitude was he couldn't care less. Health & safety was non existent, with extension lead plugs under the beds, and no adjustment on the shower. These were supposed to be Premier rooms, it was a joke!!

having been booked in by my work, I read the reviews with some trepidation.
On arrival was shown to room which was spotless, with comfortable bed and good shower.
Sky tv worked with a good choice of channels.
Food was excellent , especially the fish, dining room staff very friendly.
I was lone guest for breakfast one morning but had no problem having it cooked and served
One area for improvement could be to serve locally produced beers from Black Isle Brewery

“Food? What food?”

After living in the area a few years ago and being somewhat of a regular, i decided to take my girlfriend here for dinner. Or tried to at least. We arrived just after 8pm, well within the 6-9 opening hours advertised.
When we came into the lounge bar, it was cold, and not terribly clean. We spoke to the barman, a young guy, if we could have a table for 2. He grimaced, looked at the clock and said "OK, don't say im not good to you." and left us to find our own seat. Before we had a chance to take our jackets off, he came back through to tell us that the Chef said that the kitchen was closed and we couldnt have any food.
To add insult to injury, he asked us, somewhat sarcastically, if we would like any drinks.
I was very disappointed, as we had travelled from Inverness especially, and feel let down by unfriendly and unwelcoming staff, and the feeling that neither the bar'man' or chef just did not care, or want to be there.

“worst room ever, but very good breakfast if the chef decides to get out of bed.”

There are only two channels on a 12 inch portable tv with no remote control. Shared bathroom and toilet, with no thermostatic safety device on shower. Toilet roll was either non existent or see through. No extraction system for steam in shower area, also 60 watt candle bulb in glass open shade over shower area, would not pass modern building regs. There is something that emits a low bleeping sound every 15 mins to keep you awake. Room was very cramped and dated. Breakfast was excellent except for one morning when the chef decided to have a morning off, when this was reported the owners accused us of imagining the situation. Also if you do stay here, get a member of staff to check room with you, you could be accused of damage that you have not caused. I was expecting john cleese to turn up with his funny walks bureau.
