“Best in Inverurie”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011 via mobile

If looking for a hotel in Inverurie then this is the best all round option although the £90 tariff is a tad high for the amenities on offer. Its family owned and ran and the owners and all their staff are very friendly and helpful. I do find the room decor florals etc, dated but the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and the food is very good but again slightly pricey. Breakfast is also a good standard in a separate comfortable breakfast room.

My family and I stayed at this establishment for a little over a week during our holiday. I chose this hotel because of the favorable reviews and the hotel did not disappoint. The staff and owner were attentive to our every need and the staff were incredibly friendly and provided impeccable service that routinely went beyond our expectations. I cannot say enough about how great it was to stay at a place where the staff make you feel at home!

“Amazed at the quality of this three star hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2011

Booked into the Strathburn Hotel in Inverurie for two nights. I was booked into Room 35 which was their largest room. It is situated at the end of a corridor and very quiet. Usually I stay in five star hotels (they are few and far between in this area) and this hotel is nearest in location to my family, which was the purpose of my visit. The room was a very good size, the bed was a large double with good quality linen. The curtains were floral but of good quality and in good condition. The room was light, very clean and pleasant and in a very good state of repair. The bathroom had a power shower and the towels were snowy white and of good quality. I had a very comfortable couple of nights and slept extremely well. The breakfast was a buffet with the usual fruit, yoghurts etc. but you could also have a cooked breakfast. I only had fruit and toast (which was hot) and good quality coffee. I invited my family to eat here in the evening with me (there was five of us) and the meal was good quality with friendly service.
It would be unfair to compare the Strathburn with a five star hotel as they do lack in a couple of areas e.g the toiletries are VERY small, and when I didn't use my shampoo and conditioner (I used my own) on the first night they removed them from the room! Also there was no dressing gown or slippers. Apart from that they provide a great service for the price and I would recommend anyone to stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Book one of the larger rooms.

“BLISS”

I arrived in the evening after a very long day travelling and working was dreading going into a dark cold room, it was a very cold night. Was greeted at the reception by an exceptionally friendly lady who put me at ease immediately, as Iam a lady on my own I prefer to eat in my room I was given a menu there and then which was my choice then asked when I would like it delivered. On entering my room the lights were on curtains had been drawn the heat hit me as soon as I walked in bliss. MY meal arrived after 20 mins, which was delightful. The rooms were well decorated if a bit girly with the scatter cushions which I thought were a nice homely touch. Overall great experience and would definately stay again.

Just returned from a visit to this fine hotel and would like anybody who is going to stay in this area to consider using this hotel.
It was the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in and the cooked to order breakfast in the morning was worth getting out of bed for, all in all a top class stay
