Booked into the Strathburn Hotel in Inverurie for two nights. I was booked into Room 35 which was their largest room. It is situated at the end of a corridor and very quiet. Usually I stay in five star hotels (they are few and far between in this area) and this hotel is nearest in location to my family, which was the purpose of my visit. The room was a very good size, the bed was a large double with good quality linen. The curtains were floral but of good quality and in good condition. The room was light, very clean and pleasant and in a very good state of repair. The bathroom had a power shower and the towels were snowy white and of good quality. I had a very comfortable couple of nights and slept extremely well. The breakfast was a buffet with the usual fruit, yoghurts etc. but you could also have a cooked breakfast. I only had fruit and toast (which was hot) and good quality coffee. I invited my family to eat here in the evening with me (there was five of us) and the meal was good quality with friendly service.
It would be unfair to compare the Strathburn with a five star hotel as they do lack in a couple of areas e.g the toiletries are VERY small, and when I didn't use my shampoo and conditioner (I used my own) on the first night they removed them from the room! Also there was no dressing gown or slippers. Apart from that they provide a great service for the price and I would recommend anyone to stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
