“A home from home”

When we walked through the door on that first day, i just felt utterly utterly at home. I don't thin I will ever be able to stay in a standard hotel again for more than a night. We walked in dumped our stuff opened the patio doors and walked out onto the terrace and it was wonderful! They had read my advanced information and given us a south east facing room I have seasonal affective disorder. The staff were nothing if not helpful, charming and wonderful. It came as no surprise when I discovered that they were a sister hotel to the best western.

The room was great! besides a huge terrace, we had a reasonable sized kitchen, a good sized lounge dinning room, an small bedroom with en suite. We also had tons of storage. The hotel has its own underground car park and is situated with a huge shopping centre.

There are two supermarkets within staggering distance including a carrefore hypermarket, plus numerous other shops selling everything you could ever hope to want. Their are restaurants everywhere, we can especially recommend the NECO whose food was amazing and I will be posting a separate review of that.

We booked through late rooms and paid about 50 euros a night which frankly seems cheap for what we got. Further afield is the local town with its train station, there seemed to be a regular bus service running around the shopping centre and presumable to and from valencia

I could go on and on, but in may ways i hope you don't go to this apart-hotel
in fact stay away - otherwise I wont be able to book a room again!

“Great rooms, competetive pricing, FAB staff!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2008

Very close to the beautiful city of Valencia this hotel offers an excellent base for tourists. The city center is just 5 minutes away, and the hotel is located at an junction of the V31 motorway.
One of Spains best beaches (La Devesa) with white sands and turqois water is just 12 minutes away.

Beta Hoteles has in this street a 4* hotel and seperately a 4* aparthotel. We stayed in the apart hotel, had a 2 room appartment, with full kitchen (including microwave, oven, stove and dishwasher), a good living area, a nice sized bedroom with a super-sized double bed and a good bathroom.
There is on street parking, or you can use the free underground parking.

The staff is more than friendly, and always interested in making the guests feel comfortable and at home.

There are some downsides, and these are the reason I did not give the full 5-dot EXCELLENT marking:
The noise of the motorway is quite loud. We found we could not sleep with the windows opened, because of that noise. With the windows closed, the airconditioner had to work the whole night.
But at least one did not hear the traffic anymore.

Although the apartment had a full kitchen, we had just 2 drinking glasses, and it would have been nice to find a bottle of water in the room when you first come in. Kitchen linnen was not available.

But get around those little flaws, and you will have a very pleasant stay in a great room. served by a FAB staff, and this all for a very modest pricing.

“Good for the money”

Me and 3 friends have just come back from staying at this hotel and I thought I would write a review as I don`t think the other reviews are totally fair.
I agree that it is a little way out of Valencia so the most annoying thing is having to pay for a lot of taxis however if there is a group of people to share the price then it isn`t so much of a problem.
Considering we booked this on the internet taking a bit of a risk we paid just £88 each for 4 nights but were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms.
They are spacious and u get not only the double bedroom but a reasonable bathroom and living/dining area plus an equpped kitchen in our case. It was only built last year so it is still nice and clean also!
Overall to cut a long story short for 88 quid for 4 nights it was well worth the money but I would agree that if you were going for a luxury stay asa couple it`s probably not the best option because of the distance from Valencia and lack of facilities!
However I must add we had a taxi that worked for the hotel and was only charged about 10 euros each time to go into town which isn`t a lot really.

“You get what you pay for!”

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights during Nov for a very reasonable £200.

Travelocity rate it as a "superior 4 Star hotel distinguished with a high level of service and hospitality, as well as a wide variety of amenities and upscale facilities".

Apartotel Beta Albufera is not an hotel. It is an apartment block outside Valencia (30 min bus ride) in the middle of a 'Lakeside' commercial district.

The rooms are simple self-contained apartments. Decent enough bathroom shower. The tiny double bed was rock hard. The kitchen unit came complete with a single glass but no cutlery.

The "excellent restaurant facilities" were nothing of the sort. There was some sort of ridiculous self-service breakfast where you laid your own table and could choose from salami or a cold miniature croissant.

Our 'landscaped grounds' consisted of a McDonald's and a furniture shop. I felt that the staff tried to be helpful (they let me use their office to check the internet) but that they might have been a little slow - the taxi we asked them to book us for the airport arrived 35 mins late!

Taxi's from the city centre to the "hotel" cost about 14 euros.
I urge you to book early and find a proper hotel near the city centre.

Hire a bike and cycle around Valencia for a day. No one eats before 12pm which can be difficult to get used to in a short visit. (Restaurants don't really open before 9pm).

Valencia has its charms, but they are few and far between. I don't think Nov is a good time to visit.

I'd recommend Barcelona over Valencia.
