We chose this room because of its family room as we were travelling with three young children. The hotel itself is nice, modern and clean and the staff are very friendly. However, the location is less than ideal. The hotel states that it is a short 15 minute walk from Las Matas train station. But it is on the other side of a large motorway. You have to cross a pedestreain bridge to ge to the other side which is not too bad. Then you have to walk about on a paved footpath which again is OK. But after that things get worse. The last journey there is no way of walkiing to the hotel but through a dirt path through mud and grass. This is tolerable in daytime, but at night it becomes scary and dangerous, it is absolutely pitch black. The staff told use to call a cab from the station to the hotel. We tried to do this twice but were told either no cabs were available or it would take 45 minutes, so we had no choice but to hike back to the hotel. The staff did not seemed concerned about this at all. The hotel has very cheap prices, and the rooms are good but the location should put anyone off from staying here. Unless you have a rental car, would this be a good place to stay. Perhaps if they had a shuttle from the hotel to the train station it would be better. But then again, the rates would probably go up, which is its one appeal. Needless to say, this is not the hotel to stay at if you have children in tow. Had we known the excact location of the hotel we would not have chosen to stay here.
