well well well, I have just returned from a weeks holiday to this place and my god I didn't want to leave! we booked through another company and got a package flight and hotel for £74 each!!! so we weren't expecting much for that price, we got on the coach from the airport and when it pulled up outside we thought the coach driver had got it wrong, what a great place! huge, tall made of glass amazing lobby we thought the receptionist would laugh at us expecting to stay there for £74 and direct us to a shack down the road but no...what confused us is that the place isn't called mar y golf its part of the bellavista citymar and its split into hotel rooms and self catered apartments. we got a ground floor apartment for 6 people which was great, good size kitchen , 2 twin bedrooms, bathroom and living room with setee bed, balcony was huge we had our own sunloungers but the balconys got smaller the higher up the hotel you were. pool- one huge pool, 1 kids pool with big water slide, 1 indoor small pool that is lovely and warm. lifeguard and pool bar and security guard at night so no late night swim damn. probably a 5 min walk to beach once you find the shortcuts nice beach but not really sandy but has nice beds to sunbathe on, head further away from the built up areas you have the whole beach to yourself and sunbeds are cheaper, roquetas is very nice, lots of restaurants but not much variety really. hire a land pedlo for a laugh the locals hate tourists on them, lots of english bars m25 for a good brekkie. we went with two small kids and there was plenty to do that didn't cost loads, glass bottom boat (delfin negro) was a good day with free transport included. all in all would thoroughly recommend, although i probably wouldn't go again as there isn't enough that could tempt me back that you can't find anywhere else. however for a weeks holiday that cost less than a hotel room in england I had a great time!

The hotel was clean etc but for me the main part of a good holiday are the staff and of course the food. The staff were not helpful at all. The was never a table available at dinner times and we had to set our own one night as nobody bothers or even cares about the guests. The food was basic and no choice at all. Always had long queues and then little choice. Hardly any sweet choices or anything else for that matter. The breakfast was the next nightmare. Coffee machines never worked and leaked onto the floor making it very dangerous. The breakfast was always the same with little choice and when things did run out were not replaced either. The first night my husband couldn't even have a beer with his meal as they said there was none.... well there was but warm.. (hard to imagine for a 4* hotel) This hotel should only be 3* I am not sure how it is 4*. I would not recomend this hotel to anyone.. We will never go back. I have been all over Spain to many hotels 4* and 5* and had some great places but this has got to be the worse hotel I have ever been in.
The dinning rooms is TOTALLY UNORGANISED..... but incredible...unbelievable. There seems to be know one in charge and the staff just wander around. We had no glasses.. no cutlery.. nothing on the table and the waitress said she would bring them.... she never came back.. obviously not very important. JUST DONT GO HERE and if you do... well...... I will feel very sorry for you and I bet it will be the first and last time you go. Thank you... I hate to complain about a place but I think I would be doing people a favor by only telling the truth. Happy holidays

This was our tenth visit to roquetas de mar. Thankfully we know that not all hotels are as badly managed as this one. If this had been our first trip we would never have returned to the area.The rooms were clean and the towels were changed daily, unfortunately they were brand new and would not dry anything.I did not agree with the staff allowing guests to drink from glasses and bottles right at the side of the pool. The food was not served until 7.30p.m. but it was put out in the dining are from 6p.m. The situation of the hotel is not safe for people walking back from the main street as it is quite dark on the way round to the entrance.As for the reception staff ...what can I say. I am still waiting on someone speaking to me as we checked out. The bar area has no atmosphere . You are better crossing over to the Neptuno hotel where there is a very friendly and efficient bar man .I will return to roquetas but we will stay on the beach front.

first time to the area for me and my wife, both oap's, liked the place, nice prom, lots of cafe/bars, the odd brit bar( if you want that sort of thing). the hotel, first impression good, nice lobby, trendy bubble lifts, nice outside pool area,(inside closed), room looked good, nice balcony, etc, then you start to see the faults, room walls hollow, no door closers so they slammed shut, couldn't get a decent shower due to a loose shower head, it fell apart twice, water everwhere! the restaurant was more like a works canteen, basic - paper table cloths and mats, only a knive and fork, no other cutlery, no cruet, etc, no wine list, either house red or white, choice of food very limited, plenty of salad, main dish either pork or salmon every night, sad dessert selection. having said all that, the staff were nice enough, bar prices ok ( only us two at the bar most times), the place was very clean, but we have come to expect more from our spanish hotels. on the last night we met our mytravel rep to confirm our pick up times (8.05), and asked about an early breakfast (7.30 say), no problem, fix it with reception - reception said not possible, by then the rep had gone, however the airport had a nice cafeteria and we had a very nice bacon and cheese baguette each! the best part of the holiday was the tapas bar (gamba d'oro) on the ave. mediterraneo about 25 mins away
