we have just returned after 2 weeks in the Mar E golf apartments the room itself left a lot to be desired, the hob gave you an electric shock when we tried to turn it on the refrigerator was not working although these 2 items were fixed the same day the cutlery had rust marks on it , it seems they have spent a lot of money on new curtains but nothing else on equipment. The noise the first week was unbearable as the persons above moved or scraped something on the floor constantly, this went on from 12 midnight for about 1 hour or so and started again around 5 30 each morning. The second week was nearly as bad as they moved beds and the heavy chairs from the lounge area to the bedroom definatley would not recommend these apartments

Generally speaking, a bit of a mixed stay at this complex.

The room, can't beat it for the price ! - upgraded to 2-bedroom without asking, apartment good and comfortable. Microwave, juicer, 2 electric rings, fridge/freezer, all utensils provided.

Noise tends to travel a bit, especially people dragging chairs etc across floors late at night!. However, not a sound from the street etc at night - couldn't believe how quiet it was.

The complex - good pool and surroundings. Indoor pool OK, but getting a bit tatty round the edges and quite small. Having said that, great for non or near non-swimmers.

Restaurant - only ate there one evening (last night to avoid washing up) - wished we'd gone for the washing up! Compared to other hotels where we've stayed of the same (or lower) rating in Spain, very little variety, not great quality, zero atmosphere. You'd be far better off walking 500metres and using one of the dozens of local places.

Had no problems with staff - found 1 or 2 who spoke virtually no English, but the rest were fine and besides if you don't try the local language why should they HAVE to speak yours?

Went immediately prior to main season (last week of low), but virtually everything was open and available, and prices overall were very good.

As a tip, you can book here on a self-catering basis and literally switch your board basis from one day to the next at reception as the mood/finances take you.

The complex is very popular with the Spanish themselves, so any entertainment is very heavily slanted towards their needs, but there's so much else around you don't have to go far for a good choice.

Hi, we booked a one bed here for a week. Got upgraded to a two bed as it was one adult and his parents! They didn't even mention it, just did it. Nice people. Be aware that most cabs pull up behind it and it looks bad, but its lovely from the main entry (which is shared
by the hotel). Not sure if I'd pay to eat here all the time, but the food was ok. Many restaurants nearby no worries. Rooms clean. Safe didnt work but they fixed it. No English language TV (but I think you could have rented those channels). Only thing, they didnt speak much English, but then, heck why should they. Pool was empty- but it was Winter. Rooms very nice. For hardly any budget it was fine. Going back in April, I'll stay here and put the disabled parents elsewhere. Not to say it didnt have ramps (it did- steeeep!), but Neptuno is just easier all round for a wheelchar.

Staying over the road at Neptuno this time only because the ramp is easier for wheelchairs! Its twice the price over there tho.

Took the Monarch flight- very good despite poor reviews. Pay for the extra leg room (disabled got it free). Nice airport too! PS you can smoke on the roof while waiting for your flight.

Note to the hotel: go on, fill up the poooool!

The apartments are more than acceptable for the price we paid (less for a week than a london hotel for one night!), with a nice pool shared with the hotel next door. The place was clean, the rooms spacious and generally better than we were expecting for the price. A pleasure to stay there, and we would do so again. Plenty of things nearby for tourists, including a variety of good cheap restaurants (theres a very nice Italian round the corner). Maybe a lack of nightlife locally for clubbers seeking a holiday paradise.
