Only spent a long weekend there and it was fantastic! As per previous reviews it is more a solid 4* than a 5*, but their online prices are also similar to other 4* hotels in the area.
Check in was speedy, room was very spacious, everything was spotless. We were given a room facing the main road and it was noisy on Saturday night, so ask for a room overlooking the pool.
Food: The buffet was good, plenty of choice and they also cook meat freshly on request (if you don't mind queuing though). Pool was great, we went in September so no problems with sunbeds like you might have in August. Best part was the day time entertainment (thank you Raul!), the evening one admittedly was a little boring, but we did so many activities during the day we did not mind a quieter time. Our 6 year old had a fab time in the miniclub. We loved the paseo in Roquetas too, much quieter than the Costa del Sol.
One word of warning: the hotel is totally geared up for Spanish, so you either speak the lingo and get used to local custom or forget it!

I´m must be the luckiest person ever. I won a trip to Almeria for me and my husband for a week. We decided to stay in Protur hotel and it was such a wonderful time for us.
Everything in this hotel is just amazing, the beds, the rooms, the bathrooms, the lobby, the personel, the food and specially the pool. We just loved everything.
I will always remember this wonderful hotel.
Most of the guest were spanish but also a few icelanders like us. All the entertainment show was in spanish but that didn´t bother us, we just liked to watch the spanish people have a fun.
I highly reccomend this wonderful hotel for everyone who wants to have a relaxing and wonderful time in Spain and I´m sure that we will go there somtimes later and then with the all the family.
