“What a difference a couple of years make!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

We had a great time in the Neptuno a few years back and went this year expecting the same. We could have had a better time on the Marie Celeste!! Perhaps it was because it was out of season but it was SO quiet! On the previous visit the huge foyer was plushly furnished will settees and coffee tables and now they have all gone and it is a massive barn of a place with a glass lift in the middle.
However the room was OK, except for a long black hair on the pillow on one of the beds and the dirty marks on the mirror out of reach to anyone under 6'6" tall. Because it was so deserted we felt rather conspicuous but it was cheap 72 euros for 2 nights so our expectations weren't too high. If we saw 10 people during the 2 days we were there I would be astonished.
We never ate there so cannot comment on the restaurant or the food.
There is plenty of parking in the side streets and I have marked the sleep quality as excellent as there wasn't a noise to be heard in the hotel either day or night!!
Would I go again? Yes, if it was cheap enough!!

“Absolutely lovely and would definitely go back”

This was our third visit to Roquetas as we like to be amongst mainly Spanish holidaymakers - this was our first time self catering for two weeks and we chose well as we had a very large and very clean one bedroom apartment (two 4ft beds) with a separate single bed in the living area, fresh towels every day, change of linen three times, 100m to the beach, 50m to the supermarket, 50m to bus stop, 50m to bars/restaurants. Reception and cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. Pool area immaculate, beautiful trees and foliage. Bar/cafe offers tapas/lunch reasonable prices. Evening entertainment loud but stops at midnight. Ask for pool view. Amazing views from outdoor corridor towards the mountains. Would also recommend - Restaurant Europa (definitely not Alpujarra Restaurant) and all tapas bars especially La Gamba. If you want a holiday amongst the Spanish choose the Neptuno - would highly recommend it,

“nice hotel”

Stayed for 2 weeks in July, very nice, relaxing hotel. Friendly staff, food is OK, maybe to much pork meat, but the fish was good, I liked the breakfast. The apartments have to bee clean a tiny better before guest arrival. It is good to speak a little in Spanish, and yes I would like to stay again in Neptuno

“nice relaxing holiday”

As this holiday was a birthday present i couldn't really say no, We went for a week half board, but all in all it was a lovely holiday, the transfer from the airport took quite a while longer then we expected, but staff were very friendly on arrival, and we were allocated our room vey quickly, it was the end of the season so was very quite which suited us fine, as we had gone to relax, the weather was glorious, and the beach was beautiful with hardly anyone on it. The hotel itself was was nice, staff were great, very clean, The pool and slides were great although it was extremely cold lol. and i can't fault the room, the only down side was for the size of the hotel the dining area was a little small, and there wasn't much choice.Another thing was there was a large group of teenagers on a golfing trip there who at night were very loud and even though people complained myself included nothing happned but they were only there for 2 days. If your wanting a holiday purely to relax and unwind thi is a lovely place to go and stay and i would definatly stay here again.

“Extremely good hotel, located in a region where there is nearly nothing worthwihle to be seen, excet the see.h”

Very good food an very abundant, large swimming pool and smaller indoor swimming pool.
At night, the sound of de disco's must be overwhelming (in summer).
The public transport is at a 5 minutes walk from the hotel, but it takes the busses 1hr10" to go to Almería. From there you can take the bus to other places, but you are never sure to have a bus back, because some drivers don't take voyagers telling "complete) although there are still standing places.
Recomended for people who like good food, wine, smimming, lying on the beach. Not a cultural destination.
