“Lovely hotel with antastic view of ocean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2007

The hotel was very impressive to look at and the reception/bar area were lovely. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean as were the bathrooms.
We had fantastic views to the ocean from our room.

The entertainment was all in Spanish and was really focused upon children, however there was pool aerobics for all ages every morning and evening.

I did look on this website before we went and was more than a little worried after seeing the 'candid photos' - but having been there I feel that the photos are a little unfair - there is no longer a crane next to the building - they are extending the hotel but the building work did not in anyway interupt our holiday. The sofas in the lounge area appear to have been re-covered/cleaned and were in no way as awful as the photo portays and also the glass in the elevator has been replaced.

The food was good - a large selection, all buffet style - could be a little repetative but then it is a large hotel feeding alot of people, so the quality was good as was the amount of choice.

The is not an awful lot directly outside of the hotel by way of restaurants/bars - about 15 minutes walk to the port and there are a few places. The boardwalk runs for approximately 7 miles all the way along the beach, which was lovely.

The Gran Plaza shopping centre is a 5 minute walk away and had some really good shops.

The bus service was good - every half an hour - 25 minutes to Urb. Roquetas de Mar (which is alot livelier with alot of bars and restaurants) and the bus ride cost 0.95 cent each way.

Overall this did not seem half as bad as what I read about on this website, and we went with family - a very disfunctional one at that - so if we could enjoy it then I think anyone could :o)

“Airtours fault left staff to struggle, but nice place.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2007

Me, my parents and my friend ended up here on an allocation on arrival via airtours a few years back. Let me stress..it is not as bad as the reviews make out, but airtours made a c*ck up introducing this as a family resort to british families. To the spanish, this is a saga type holiday resort, with lots of nice middle aged and up spaniards coming here with grupo mundo. When we were there off-season, there was limited entertainment and it was mostly based around making sure the elderly people had a good holiday with dancing and bingo etc.

The hotel itself and the gardens surrounding are amazing. The rooms are exceptionally clean, and the staff do their best for you. The game room is fun and the buffet is satisfactory but not great.

The location, popular to contrary belief, is good. There is a mall 2 minutes walk down the road with everything you need, and there are a row of family run (mostly british) bars a leisurely walk down the prominade, and a bit further on still is the resort centre. Also, there is a bus stop near enough outside where you can get pretty much anywhere for cheap. I found everything within easy walking distance, and i'm lazy!

There isn't a lot for families with young children, but me and my friend, both being in our late teens, found it great, so declined a chance to move to the sister hotel like everyone else seemed to be doing. We ventured to the sister hotel to check it out, and whilst having a better buffet selection, the location was poor.

In conclusion, a good hotel in general and a great location but wrongly presented by airtours.

  • Disliked — The fact that airtours misrepresented it.

“Beautiful hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2007

Me, my wife and 2 children, with 9 and 3 years old, we stayed at the hotel, from 15 to 23 August, in HFB. The hotel is beautifull and has a fantastic pool area. The service is a 3+ star. The food is good for an hotel.
All the staff was excellent.
The entertaiment for adults and kids is not such good as I thought can be for a 4 * hotel.

“Not Recommended”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2006

We have just returned from a two week break in this resort, overall, it was very disappointing. This hotel is 4km out of the resort centre, therefore had to take a taxi every eving which cost 8 euro's there and back. Even though we were half board, we ate out as the food was disgusting, tastless and mainly catered for the spanish.
Entertainment for English was non exisistant, as every night there is are spanish groups on, this resulted in most night the foyer being full of English people as there was nothing to do. The staff were not helpful at all, their English was very limited.
This Hotel is recommended a four star, however this is not the case.
All I can say, is that if anyone went all inclusive to this resort, this would be a holiday from hell.
