“Booking service and Management very disrespectful”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2011

We book three days for 170€ or there abouts on a deal that was made available in their web site, when we got there from the internet access at the launch, because nor reception or reservations dep had a clue about that deal... then after almost one hour waiting after a long road trip, the manager comes out and we have a discussion, as they cannot figure out where did we make the booking for that price ! following they take us to the back office ( where there is an awful small..) and ask us to show them where did we book !! I show them and them they say that the offer was only for over 50's... obviously a bad web page design in the Englidh version ! after a big huff and offensive situation, they recognize the mistake and offer us to stay for the price booked, but it was too late for us after the inconvenience caused... they gave us a junior suit to compensate us, which it was nice. The rest of the staff was very friendly and the food was OK.
There is not Internet in the rooms at all, the only internet available is in the Bar and you have to pay for it.
There is no much parking space either at the front, some at the back and a parking lot two blocks away for 7€ a day !
No fridge in the rooms either.
The Spa area was pretty bad, you had to pay for the sauna ! never seen this before..
Summarizing overall experience was poor.

“WONDERFUL TRIP”

I was with my wife and some friends and this travel was one of the best experiences of my life. Everything was great, wonderful hotel staff and of course I recommend this hotel to all the English and everyone who reads this site.

They also say that Almeria is a perfect land, has everything beach, good food, mountains, and above all a wonderful sunshine.

“LOOKING FORWARD TO RETURNING THERE NEXT YEAR”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

Our party consisted of myself, my husband, our 13 year old autistic son and my mother who is in her eighties.
We arrived in the hotel at around 11 a.m. and were warned by our Thomas Cook Rep. that non of the hotels would have the rooms ready at that time. True enough we had to wait until 2 p.m. but we passed the time sitting by the pool with a cold drink from the bar.
When we got our rooms they were up graded to Junior Suites and were very, very nice. Spacious and with the bath in the room, not partitioned off as previously mentioned. This is a bit unusual really, especially if you're sharing with a friend because there's no privacy (although the toilet at least is separate). As it happens, we didn't mind this at all and really liked the rooms.
All the staff spoke a bit of English, and were all exceptionally helpful and polite - the waiting staff in the buffet were particularly warm and friendly.
The food at breakfast was varied and cooked well and we always found it to be hot. The evening buffet was lovely, there was always lots of choice and althoug there were some things that we wouldn't eat e.g. rabbit, veal and squid, there was always a roast being carved, grilled salmon or sea bass etc, lamb and pork chops, pasta with sauces, and lots, lots more. My favourite dessert was the crepes which were made to order. We did eat out a couple of nights, just for a change and to see the resort.
The pools at the hotel are wonderful and were never crowded when we went. The bars are good and all public areas were clean and well presented. The shop sells crisps, souvenirs and sweets and you can buy a bottle of whisky for €13.

Roquetas de Mar itself is a lovely resort, very flat and not too big but still with plenty of bars etc. The best thing about it is, of course the weather, 30 degrees plus the last week of September.

We'll be returning to the Mediterraneo Park next year.

“This hotel is nothing like its website”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

This hotel warrants only 2 stars - the rooms and public areas bear no resemblance to the photos online. The overall first impression was that of a run down holiday camp. We had park 4 blocks away and had to pay in full on arrival (not normal for a 4 star hotel!) and were put in a room resembling a dormitory with 4 beds and no terrace or sea view, despite the online description on the hotel's website - "We offer guests superb personal comfort with large public rooms and spacious superior bedrooms equipped with large beds. All have magnificent sea views from their sunny terraces". They said they had no other rooms so we decide to leave. Miraculously an alternative room materialised when we said we wanted a refund, but this was still not up to standard, so we declined the offer. The initial expereince had left a bad taste in our mouths. It then took us 2 hours for them to agree a refund so we could leave. Luckily we had only driven 3 hours from our home for this weekend break, not flown in from overseas! The one bright spot was the assistance of a receptionist called Albert who did everything he could to help us in our quest for a refund, including free drinks in the bar while we waited for the manager, who declined to come out of her office to see us, but eventually approved the refund from behind her closed door. Definitely not 4 star!!

“fab not too comercial spanish holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2010

We booked the hotel directly and was very happy with it, however the swish bathrooms pictured on the advert is not quite like acurate. We were hoping for the roll top bath but got a shower over bath but still very nice and clean. Personally i wouldnt book anything more than B+B as food in the area is very good, and the food in the hotel is ok but nothing special just normal standard hotel food. There was nothing wrong with the food however whilst im on holiday i feel its nice to be served your evening meal, as the hotel has a buffet mealtime it does seem a little rushed and as a couple are contantly one of you is up chosing different dishes. The maid visited everyday and cleaned the rooms. I had a back massage whilst there witch i found very good. The area was not particularly pretty but was not packed with holiday makers, the beach was deserted, a little pebbly but still very clean. The hotel was just a short walk to the local tapas bars and resturants. If you like tapas then this is the place to go. Withe very beer you buy they bring out a tapas of there choice. Its good for trying food you maynot normally choose. You may consider to do a tapas crawl inseed of a pub crawl we did and eat out and had a few beers at very little expense. We couldnt believe we were on the Costa del sol. It was nothing like the More southern areas of the district. we would defo recommend couple to visit. We ate in Gilberts one night purely as we were truely a little fed up with tapas. The resturant was a pleasent change and was glad of a hearty meal. The best place by far was Gambas on the main drag. it was a down and authentic Tapas bar with stools for eating inside and on the street. very fast and interesting. We couldnt stay away. The food is prepared in the open kitchen and served with your beer all for around 1.50 euro, its a must visit if your in the area. If you hire a car then take a trip to Mojacar on the hill its fab. If you have family try mini Hollywood, 19euros each, get there for 10am to make the most of it.
