My first impression was not good: we could not find a parking place, it took around 40 minutes to check in and the air conditioning did not work the first night. There seemed to be lines everywhere! For the ice cream, for the restaurant, etc. But then things started to get better. The hotel is right on the beach, plenty of elevators, ice cream and popcorn in the garden in the afternoon, great pina coladas, and the bar grill serves late breakfasts. The Oasis Islantilla animation team seemed to be well organized, but I think it could have been better at night. For example, one night it was Bingo… It was all pretty good, but if I were to go back to this area, I would choose Iberostar Isla Canela, were we went last year.

A great hotel and a great location. Not many speaking English staff here and hotel was filled with Spanish portugese and Italian customers, but don't let that put you off. The Spanish animation team did a great job in involving everybody in silly games and sport that you soon made lots of friends and trying to converse in their language wad fun. For those that love tennis and squash they have a paddle tennis court which is a game that combines both. Super fun. There is a lovely pool and a glorious beach right on it's doorstep. Drinks in the hotel are reasonable but if you want a real bargain go to the marquis tent on the beach some 100 metres away where its very cheap as they cater for their local people. Even the small supermarket and bakery are priced for the locals. There are restaurants at the nearby commercial centre. Portugal is a 20 minute drive away so you can always hire a car and drive into Portugal if you want. We went to a watermark near albufeira and had a great day. The beach is great, lovely sand but they won't let you on a jet ski unless you have a licence. However the banana boat was great fun and so were the pedlo's. If you like golfing there is a golf course a mile away but it's a tough course. As the entertainment was good we spent most evenings going out to eat, chilling out on the beach bar in the marquis before returning to the hotel for the evening entertainment. Great holiday and great resort. No yobs no loud mouth british drunks and great place for a family.
