My wife and stayed for a week in early October in the Lavanda apartment. The apartment was spacious, clean, and well equipped - we didn't want to cook but we could have if we had wanted. It was also very quiet. Breakfasts were generous. Twice while we were there Luca and company put on a feast that was extraordinary both in quality and quantity.
Service was very friendly. There wasn't always someone on site but the doorbell called Luca on his cellphone and generated a quick response. We really appreciated the information booklets specific to Bonello, one on walking paths in the area and the other on the attractions in the Val d'Orcia. We didn't try the bikes. A car is pretty much a necessity although there is an occasional bus and either Pienza or San Quirico is within an hour walking. There is plenty to see in the Val d'Orcia and there certainly were no hordes of tourists in October, except in Siena. Our usual day involved a visit to a town or two, a leisurely lunch or picnic, a country walk of an hour or two, and then a leisurely dinner. Internet access, except via cell phone, was not easy to find although there is an internet cafe in Pienza. This was a plus for us.
