“Great location, clean and very friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

We were planing our vacation on lake Garda so our hotel will be in a central location but also allows us to have quite and relaxing moments on the lake. Hotel Salo' du Parc met these expectations. We were staying in a double deluxe room on the 4th floor viewing the lake; the room was spacious, clean and the view from the balcony was absolutely stunning! The location of the hotel is very good- right at the end of Salo's lovely promenade so your'e close to all restaurants etc. but also very quiet and calm so you don't hear any noise. The staff was also very helpful and kind to answer all our questions about the surrounding area , especially Sarah from the reception desk and Emilia the hotel manager. Breakfast is standard and satisfying. The only disadvantage I would mention will be the 10 euro parking fee per day, in my opinion a 4 star hotel should allow its guests free parking service. Overall we would recommend this hotel and would be happy to visit it again in the future.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 4th and 5th floor will guarantee an unforgettable lake view.

Dear Ms. Vilshansky,

Thank you very much for your comment. We really appreciate that.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and you liked the place and the hotel.

Regarding the parking place, I undestand your point. However we had to do something like that since we do not have many parking slots available and sometimes we have to offer the garage opposite to the hotel wich the price over there is 10 euro per day (24hours). Based on that we adopted the policy to reserve the parking place for our guest but at the same time to charge it just to make no difference between the guest who parks in the public parking place and the ones who parks at the hotel.

Thank you very much indeed and we look forward to see you next time.

Yours Sincrely

“Beautiful position... But Hotel is looking a bit tired.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

We booked a deluxe room with king bed, got a twin and was sent to look with keys for an available double, which is when we discovered one key opened another room on same floor... Only there 3 nights so put up with smaller room altho paid for deluxe.. The hotel advertised Wifi in rooms.. This is definitely not so... But depending on who you spoke to, one said definitely no wifi (reception and bar only) another said there should be wifi in rooms, and a woman who looked like she might have been the boss said.. There is a problem.... !!
Breakfast adequate but definitely not 4star. Drinks very expensive and no kettle or facilities to make hot drinks. The grounds were beautiful and position. Take note that the photograph is quite deceptive as hotel looks like it's double the size, it shows grounds and flats next door.
Which has had a coat of paint and gardens maintained which makes the hotel look quite unkept.

Room Tip: The rooms higher ( so called deluxe) and to the side have better views. Not end ones which are small...

Dear Madame and Sir,

Thank you for you helpful comment.
However, I would like to point out the fact that when someone book a deluxe room is always been given according to the reservation.
The free wifi connection is available only in the public areas and it is stated on every web site and in every leaflet.
Regarding the garden there is a gardner every day and we try to keep the garden as best as we can.

I thank you again and I do apologize if something in your holiday was unpleasent.

Yours Sincerely
Emilia Dolcini

“A gem of a location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

Excellent location, good staff and value. Most rooms appeared to have balconies with lakeside views, we were indeed most fortunate to be given a room located on an upper floor for the best vantage point overlooking the hotel gardens and Lake Garda. I would definately recommend the hotel for the location and view alone. Rooms are also very spacious with large ensuite bathrooms.
The set dinner was excellent value plus the lunchtime snacks at the bar were good. There are free sunbeds provided by the hotel for a relaxing day by the lake..Although we originally booked for only two nights and then extended to three ,my main regret is that we did not stay longer. The hotel is in a very peaceful location just a few minutes walk from Salo. All staff appeared to be friendly and helpful. There is a convenient multistory car park located across the road which charges hotel guests 10 euros for 24 hours.

The resort of Salo which is beautiful without being overrun . An excellent restaurant with covered seating next to the lake is within a few minutes walk of the hotel, however It is adviseable to arrive early in the evening for this or expect to wait some time for a table as very popular.

There were some negatives about the hotel, however I must stress that for approximately £133 per night for a lakeside double Ensuite room including buffet breakfast and given the location, what more could you expect. The hotel is still excellent value.
You get the impession that the hotel is run on a shoestring. Carpets through stairs & corridors look tired, rooms appear to be dated circa 1960/70s when the hotel was built.
The buffet breakfasts have little choice, with no orange juice and rather spicy unsavoury scrambled egg on offer + no bacon, and a toaster that does not work properly. Strangely there were no drinking glasses whatsoever in the room despite having a minibar. Apparently these had to be requested from the bar...... how unusual. In addition, there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room although we have our own travel kettle and tea bags we were able to overcome this. There was room in the minibar to store milk.

To sum up, the hotel provided excellent value for money and a quiet, beautiful lakeside location.I would without doubt stay there again and recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Rooms on upper floors have the best views.Take your own kettle, cups and tea/coffee .

“€2,000 Disappointment! 2.000 € Enttäuschung! € 2.000 delusione!”

Regrettably, the hotel’s arrogant, unhelpful management attitude soured my holiday, its staff and customers deserve better leadership. Despite my requesting a nice room we were given one of the worst locations on site, directly above a noisy & smelly bin store plus a balcony in disrepair and partly confined outlook – see photos. I asked for a room change 4 days into a 14 day stay but received an arrogant rebuff that it was impossible despite my €2,000 charge. The room’s air con rattled erratically and made sleep difficult, we had scraped worn flooring, the hall carpeting was multi stained, the garden access ladder to swim in the lake was unsafe, and even the hotel entry sign was grown over with ivy! – Obviously no self pride and the manager has questionable priorities! The aerial photo is misleading as it suggests a large building with extensive gardens, the truth is that 50% of what you see is not the hotel at all but private flats. Salo is a wonderful location to holiday but because of this hotel manager’s arrogant and complacent attitude, we have sourced far better hotel options nearby for our next visit. I would advise anyone booking here to avoid so called ‘Comfort’ rooms as some are certainly not 4 star. I highly value TripAdvisor and overlooked other visitors criticism here but I have now joined those who are disappointed, aggrieved and not returning.

Dear Sir,

I do apologize if you had a bad holiday.
Regarding the room move it was impossible to do since we were fully booked and we did not have availability, otherwise we would have surely done it . However the room that it was assigned was a Comfort room. One of the biggest.
I'm so sorry also regarding the missfunctioning of the aircon, but it wasn't claimed, so we could not do much about that.
The garden that it has been seen on a website is the garden of the hotel that is actually huge, even if you can also see the other garden which belongs to the apartaments block next to it.

I do aplogize again and we thank you anyway for the constructive comment.

Yours Faithfully

“We loved it and would certainly return - a great place to relax”

Great service, friendly staff from the moment we arrived.
Booked in on a half board basis. Four course evening meals were great and in the unlikely event that there was something you didn't like from the selection then the staff would always offer other options.
All staff worked hard to ensure that your stay was a pleasure. From cleaning the pool to mowing the lawn, to cleaning the room, to a menu that was both varied and tasty a great place to stay.
Everyone had a smile, and showed a genuine interest, nothing was too much trouble - There was also a real family feel to the hotel that everyone cared, not just for the guests but for each other too.

Room Tip: Great view and large room, always clean and tidy.
