We stayed at the Mykali in June ,A lovely postion and view and very clean. We were half board but we only ate in hotel two nights out seven ,it was a set meal so if you did not like the meal you were a bit twix between ,meals we had were very much same same sliced potatoes with meat on top the food was not very Greek. We had breakfast most mornings ok eggs;ham, cheese, cerials, fresh fruit. The walk from the hotel was 25 to 30 mins into town ok nice but a busy walk on the main road ok if you are good on your legs. the nearest beach was a walk down a steep hill a car or scooter would be favoured, car hire quit cheep a scooter 8 euro for the day next to the hotel. The airport was very close I would not pay for transferes its cheaper by taxi. The staff at the hotel were not over friendly they didn't encourage us to stay at the bar on a nightime we felt we needed to go into town for entertainment and a decent meal, where there was plenty to choose from. The hotel has a beautiful veiw but has no shops nearby, you need to go to town. There is a good bus service to Samos Town from outside the hotel. A boat trip to Turkey takes about hour and half you can book it in town. A great day out. Our veiw on this holiday was that we had a very relaxing week well worth the trip and we would go back to Samos. Pythagogion is lovely place but if we stayed at Mykali again we would hire a car from airport, this would make a very big difference and wouldn,t feel so cut off.
