“OK Hotel, but a long walk.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

We had 2 nice weeks at this place, but it's average. Small rooms and even smaller shower stall. A bit pricey on drinks at the pool bar, and we had a very good club sandwich. About 30 min walk downhill to Pythagorion. The second nicest place in Greece I've been to outside Santorini. This village has it all, and the atmosphere is perfect for those who isn't in a hurry. If I would travel here next time, I would choose a hotel closer to town.

“Very nice hotel, with fantastic view"”

The staff goes out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Nice, greek food for lunsj, we did not try the dinner menu. Shuttle bus to Phytagorion takes five minutes, but has not the most practical time table. But taxi from pythagorion is 5 Euro.
Nvery nice and quiet pool area, and good sized pool. Tennis court that the guests can use for free. All in all a romantic and very nice place to stay in Samos.

“Best and nicest hotel in Samos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

I have stayed her 4 times now, and 2 times alone, and just LOVE it.

The greek staff are so nice and friendly, so you just feel right at home :)

Hotel is on a hill side, so there is a nice breeze to cool off a bit, and of course a fab view.

The rooms are very nice and clean with nice terrace or balcony.

Love the quiet beach with free sunbeds, clear wather and lot of fish in the sea. Maby you can catch one with dry bread *L* . There is a beach bar, and you dont even have to get up. If you are hungry there is a nice restaurant in the hotel by beach. It is a walk down the hillside to get to this beach, but it is all worth it and great excercise ;)

There is a free hotel bus to town or beach. Taxi are cheep in Samos, and you can also jump on the lokal bus on the main road fx. get to Samos town for only 1,70 EURO.

Wish you a nice stay at Hotel Mykali

“Dirty rooms!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011 via mobile

The rooms have a great view. But the batroom and the rooms are old and very dirty, I could hardly have a shower in this dirty hotel. I will never stay again.

“Really friendly, well run, hotel”

Greece beats most of Europe for a friendly welcome; and Pythgorio is as friendly as Greek resorts come. Only know the Mykali, on the outskirts of Pythagorio (towards Vathi), but doubt you would find a friendlier hotel. It offers all one expects from a Greek hotel, and at an exceptionally price ... I had a real bargain. I went B & B, and had precisely the room that I expect in Greece; and I do not suppose mine was the best on the large complex with at least 5 major blocks. Breakfast was also much as I would expect, but with slightly more choice of cereal (very continental) than some; and with a daily 'extra' (often a local speciality) in addition to the standard fare of ham, cheese and hard-boiled eggs to go with some really nice bread. Only had the evening meal on Sunday, when choice was limited, but the food quite reasonable; however, Pythagorio is exceptionally good for eating out nightly, so advise B & B. Only 4* rating because of location; walking into Pythgorio along the road is not pleasant, so the 5 times a day shuttle minibus is a Godsend. And the wind can whistle quite loudly a couple of times a day (mind you, mine was probably the windiest room!).
