My wife and I decided to get away for some last minute sun (16th - 23rd October) and picked San Lorenzo Village as Lassi seemed a perfect place to stay as it was so close to the capital, Argostoli. We definitely weren't disappointed with our choice! San Lorenzo is a beautiful little place with a great pool area and a fantastic view as it is on one of the higher points of the island. We were fortunate to witness some lovely sunsets from our poolside seats. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, with the use of a kitchen which came complete with a microwave, toaster, grill and 2 hobs. The dvd player and flat screen tv were a nice touch. A few DVDs were available on reception for a small deposit. As we had come so late in the season (it was actually San Lorenzo's last week open to the public, some of the staff were flying back on the same flight as us!), there wasn't too much open in Lassi, however, what was open, the food was very good. We didn't have one bad meal while we were there. There were plenty of beaches to choose from, with the nearest one less than 10 minutes away. With it being the end of the season, the beaches were very quiet. Argostoli was not too far either, it was either a 6 euro taxi ride or if you were up to it, you could walk one of two ways into town, either a 40 minute walk or a very picturesque walk along the coast which took in some fantastic views, which took between 1 1/2 or 2 hours (depending on your speed). I would recommend this walk as my wife and I took it twice. You can also check out the lighthouse on this walk. Argostoli had plenty going on, with quite a few funky little bars (who all appeared to like their whicker chairs!) and cafes, mainly around the main square. If we went back to Kefalonia, we would definitely stay at San Lorenzo again, however, next time, we might go a bit earlier in the season, even a few weeks earlier. That being said, it did mean that San Lorenzo were very accomodating, as people were expected to check out by 10am generally, however, as we were the last group of people to visit, we were allowed to use the rooms until our flight was leaving, which meant we weren't rushed.
Would definitely recommend!
