“You can find a better place with the same money...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2010

We spent one week in B&B formula but we never had breakfast as it was at least very poor.
The room was not small but the bathroom was not good and not clean enough.
The swimming pool was nice but nothing special.
Last but not least, the hotel is far away from everything and if you do not have a car it could be risky walk at night.
For our experience you can find in Santorini a better hotels at the same price.

“ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2009

Karterados: the best to place to stay in Santorini. In the center of the island, sea view, a 5 minutes' quad or bike from Fira (very crowded at nights), and close to the main beaches (Kamari, Perissa, Red beach and Black beach). There is also minimarkets and restaurants, but of course is better to choose one from Oia or Imerovigli.
Maistros Village: perfet accomodation! The clean rooms are based on white and blue colour and have TV, fridge and AC (not so useful, 'cos the hard wind blows everytime!).
The breakfast is serverd in front of the pool, 'till 10.30 am. Wonderful!
The complex is formed by several rooms and apartment with own kitcken.
We didn't book before coming at Santorini, so we think that the price was a deal, 'cos our double was the last (50 € per night, with breakfast).
Really good experience!

“It is like an invitation to stay in a Greek Home!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2009

In the beautiful island of Santorini, this hotel/room complex is the perfect little jewel. The apartments are roomy with a big living/dining room, and mine was a mezzanine with the bedroom upstairs open to the rest of the apartment below. It was typically decorated in Greek island fashion and very clean. In the center of the complex, is a large swimming pool with lounge chairs and umbrellas. It is close to plenty of good tavernas with Greek food and to public buses which wisk you to all the beaches or to Fira (main town) even though we would always walk the distance (about 20-30 minutes). The owner Nick was always very friendly with a smile and friendly words. It's really a wonderful place to stay and I'll hopefully get a chance to revisit soon. Chris

“Perfect!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2009

Aside for the location wich is a little off, the hotel is great! Great Pool and the rooms are HUGE! Very clean and roomy. You have to walk a little (10 min) to catch a bus and for mini markets and walk a little more (20 min) to reach Fira(Thira). I recommend taking a cab back from Thira (5 Euros). For restaurants next to the hotel The owner may recommend Tabasco but we didnt like it so much. You should either eat at Thira or Oia or cook in your room and eat on your balcony as there is a great view and a kitchenette in each room.

Just a little note on Oia, be careful if you get there by boat as you have to either climb the 300 stairs by foot or take a donkey ride. I do not recomment the Donkey as it is very scary (and dangerous..) and we did not feel the donkeys were treated properly. Better to go to Oia by bus!

“Simple, Greek Island and inland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2007

Our first Greek Island holiday and we were advised by those in the know that Santorini was a great place to visit. We found this place on the net and took a punt on it. Rooms and fittings etc are simple but very clean and are air conditioned. If you book a room / apartment with more than one room you won't get any privacy as the rooms are open plan gallery style. The location is not stunning but there are beaches (black sand) within a couple of miles and Thira the lively island Capital is an half a hour walk.
Breakfast are again simple but wholesome and taken in a relaxing way by the pool. There is a bar open from about 11 am to 7pm by the pool. There are several restaurants nearby the best by a mile is called Skaramagos the owner has his own fishing boat and the fish is very fresh. Try also the Fava.

The island itself is dominated by the magnificent caldera you will enjoy the famous sunsets but be warned you will pay heavily for the privilege in any of the the teeming bars and restaurants on the caldera edge. I have travelled a lot to most corners of the world but never, ever, ever have I been stitched up as I was in one restaurant!!
