“Very good hotel, try it”

It was very good holiday. we enjoyed every minutes. The staff were very kindly and helpful. We had all inclusive. The food was very good, the drink was limited (in time and in types). The animation program was terrible evenings, but it was not important for us. The beach was the best, so nice and beautiful and very clean, not too far. The room was high quality llike 4/5 stars hotel room (LCD TV). Some people were not satisfied with the room, because the last building was on very high with too much walking. We were lucky, we had got the best room with big balkony at swimming pool. The swimming pool was very good. There was bars near to the hotel, they were very cheap.

“this hotel is not very good for British people as the hotel has many german patrons. the food is also not the best.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2010

this hotel is not very good, there is little or no entertainment and the all inclusive package is not all it seems. cocktails are only free from 9pm until 10pm which is strange because All inclusive should last all day and hotel guests are only allowed one type of cocktail a day so they wouldn't be able to drink what they desire. there is also only one type of beer and one type of wine. and limited spirits. the food is also very poor and most is constantly cold. i would not recommed this hotel to people looking for a good time.

“Insomnia in Stalis.”

verything seemed to be alright... food which is the local greek cuisine is really tasty, free drinks at the bar (but only till 11PM), no greek evening as in the other hotels, 2 clean averange swimming pools, very close to the main market boardwalk with plenty of bars and cafes, very close to another interesting town Malia which is probably a very good destination for those who like parties and night clubs. Moreover, the neares beaches aren't very crowded and there's a lot of facilities to practice water sports. BUT... one fault overwhelmed my family.. we couln't stand that noisy street in front of our windows... it doesn't seem to be as busy during the day as it's at night. If you want to really have a rest after a whole day of attractions it's not a good idea to choose this hotel, because all the voices of the nightlife and from the street will exhaust you definetely.

“Lovely hotel, would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice holiday break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2010

We travelled over to Crete just after mid May time. Upon arrival we were greeted by helpful friendly staff and given a very modern and clean room. In our room we had a fridge and AC which were essential for our stay and free of charge. We found their to be a lot of German guests that were extremely polite and friendly, we took part in entertainment everynight set up by the animation staff which allowed us to chat and get involved with the other hotel guests, also most the other guests understood and spoke good English. The staff were very helpful and friendly to all the guests, excellent bar staff around the pool decks and during the evening great bar staff serving alcoholic beverages. All the waiters/waitresses were very polite and helpful. After reading the reviews of the food choice I was worried that we would not find anything that we fancied eating but were shocked at the buffet choice and the amount of different foods we could choose from, this ranged from all different meats.. pork, beef, chicken, liver, bacon, sausage and fish, all salad, different potatoe/pasta salads, cheese, olives etc and sides like chips, potatoes, rice or even pasta with a tomato, carbonara, taglitellie or cheese sauce. The choice generally changed everynight. Breakfast was fairly the same each day but with a lot of choice, English breakfast, bread (toaster), cheeses, biscuits/cake, tea/coffee, plenty of different drinks, croissants and more. There were 2 pool decks, a main and one down near the bungalows, we found plenty of sunbeds, clean and tidy pool areas and a choice of drinks during the snack hours at the pool bars, the spa area which could be booked daily at reception for the all inclusive guests was very nice and clean, there was changing rooms, a shower, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna with plenty of privacy as this was limited to 45mins per (party/couple/room) a day. Across the road was the town of Stalis which we found lovely bars, restaurants, shops and beaches. I would recommend hiring a car if you want to travel to other areas of the island or even visit towns/waterparks or historic sites, it is fairly easy to get around as their is a national road going through the whole island. We had a free 1 hour usage of a Wii Fi laptop a day with another 2 computers in the bar area.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone as we (3 friends) had a great time and didn't want to leave, met many new friends including the staff and were well accomodated and looked after.

“Lovely hotel and friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2009

We stayed here the first week in June 2009 on our honeymoon. The hotel was modern and clean, as was our room. It looks to have been refurbished very recently and this had been done to a very high standard. There was a fridge and air con (free of chage) in our room, both of which were essential. The safety deposit box cost 15 euros for the week. It wasn't particularly busy when we were there so we had no problem with getting sunbeds, served at the bar etc.

All other guests were German and they all said "Hello" but kept themselves to themselves. This didn't seem to be because we weren't German, though - they didn't seem to mix with each other apart from one night in the bar when the "Animation" holiday reps had organised some entertainment and everyone joined in. The reps spoke to us every day and encouraged us to join in activities such as football and aquarobics, even though we hadn't booked through their travel agency.

The food was of a good standard. Having read other reviews after we'd booked, I wondered what we had let ourselves in for but we were pleasantly surprised! The food wasn't necessarily German, as commented by another reviewer but was mainly local produce. There was always several types of bread to choose from as well as fish, meat, vegetables (lots containing aubergines) and pasta (with two different sauces). There was always plenty of defferent salads, always accompanied by cheese (usally feta) and olives in abundance. There were pasta slads, rice salads and egg mayonnaise and there were dressings and dried herbs if you fancied them. If you are expecting a typical English brekkie then you will be disappointed but there was plenty of choice. A toaster would have been nice but the different breads and pasties made up for the lack of one. The deserts may have been geared towards German tastes but it was usually obvious what they were. The restaurant staff were very friendly and spoke English so there would be no reason why they wouldn't be willing to tell you what something was if you didn't want to be particularly adventurous! I had a great time trying everything, and my faddy - ish husband also managed to find something most nights. We ate out a couple of times but only because we fancied a change of scenery. My only criticism was that it appeared to be the same type of fish on offer each night, which got a bit much a few days in. If you are on a budget, it's perfect but if you expect the "all inclusive" to be comparable to something you would get in a Carribbean, you will be disappointed. We found it to be more than sufficient - the wine and beer were both acceptable and the soft drinks were great.

The hotel was in a perfect location - you only had to cross the main road and you were in Stalis. We went on a day trip to Spinalonga which cost 40 euros each and included lunch (salad and a BBQ'd chop - delicious -or tuna with greek salad) and one drink with lunch. If you have read "The Island" by Vicoria Hislop, it's a worthwhile trip.

A wonderful, relaxing holiday, and we would go back tomorrow if we could!
