Hotel soit disant deux étoiles, mais n'en méritant même pas une ... mis à part la sympathie des serveurs et serveuses (exploités) qui font tout pour rendre agréable le séjour des clients, cet hotel ne présent rien de positif.
Chambres/appartements très petits avec quasi aucune possibilité de rangement. Je n'oserais donner une quote pour l'entretien/nettoyage.
Restaurant très bruyant, type quantine d'usine, où tout le monde se bouscule, aussi bien pour le déjeuner que pour le diner. Ne parlons pas de la cohue au petit déjeuner! OK pour la nourriture, sans plus. Tout est servi sous forme de buffet.
L'hotel propose une 'mini' pischine intérieure dont l'entretien laisse à désirer. De plus l'odeur de chlore se répend sur l'étage supérieur.
La situation de l'hotel par rapport aux pistes ... 10 minutes de marche très fatigantes (en montée). Pas évident botines de ski au pieds.
Pra-Loup par elle-même est une belle station.

I stayed here while visiting Praloup for mountain biking. The hotel was very nice and modern, with a clean and comfortable but small bedroom. The staff were nice too. Discovered on arrival that it is an all- in hotel. Despite it being buffet style in the evenings food was good and there was plenty of it.

It is very much a family hotel though, and I think mostly suited for French families with a lot of kids running around.

I'd certainly recommend this as a hotel if you need to visit Praloup but it's probably not a hotel you would hang around if you are not their on a family holiday. But for bed and board it is pretty good!

I have never stayed at such a dirty hotel. We arrived to find our room stank of cigarettes. The carpet was filthy and the bathroom had no toilet seat, no plug for the sink and no shower attachment to enable you hang up the shower. The hall lighting and emergency lighting didn't work.

The food was horrible unless you like hot dogs and sauerkraut or undescribable fish to the aroma of chlorine as the swimming pool is open to the restaurant.

The only good bit was the free rose wine! Although the cost of the stay probably covered that six times over. It is a good 10 minutes distance from the slopes - uphill and although there is a half hourly bus service, the bus is small and often left passengers behind. Therefore although you will probably have to pay for full board you are unlikey to use it.

You should also note that the pass between La Foux and Pra Loup was closed and no-one told us this so don't trust a Tom Tom from the South as you will end up having to drive around the mountains for another two and a half hours.

We went to Hotel Les Bergers in Pra Loup for a skiing Holiday.

The hotel looks very nice at the outside. I wish there were more pictures of the inside + reviews at tripadvisor at the moment of booking. We will never go there again. It is a 2 star hotel and we expected it to be a simple hotel but as far as we are concerned this hotel should have no stars at all.

We booked it including breakfast and dinner (big mistake).

The hotel room is very simple. We had a nice view against a concrete wall. It was very easy for burglars to walk to our room window and because of that housekeeping left our window and curtains open after the first time they cleaned. My car keys and digital camera lay next to the tv to be picked up by anyone who passed the window. We complained about this and the cleaners didn't open our windows anymore.
The bed was 20+ years old and was so wedged in the middle that me and my wife slept on eachother more then next to eachother. The room was rather clean but could use some new paint and it had waterstains from a leakage.

Bathroom was terrible. The shower/bath combination didn't work well for us because the tap and the outlet for the water from the shower were running at the same time. We complained 3 times about this but it was never solved. So when using the shower it took 2 times the normal time to get wet because there was so little water from the showerhead. The rooms were very noisy. We could here litterally what the room next to us (with three kids in the age between 6 an 14) were telling/yelling to eachother until 12pm.

The hotel has an indoor swimmingpool wich we didn't use but have smelled throughout the complete hotel. Somehow the cholorine level was high and they didn't have a way to vent it out of the poolarea.

Breakfast was very good. A lot of different sorts of bread and 2 sorts of croissants. Milk, yoghurt and serials. I have to say the breakfast was the biggest plus of this hotel.

Dinner was terrible although there always was enough. Food was presented in warm dishes and you could pick what you wanted. I ate potatoes 6 dinners. The meat wasn't very nice and at one night there was some kind of baked fish wich smelled awfull.
We went in a time that the childrensvacation was and we knew that. 25 children running around yelling, crying and playing hide and seek under and around the tables was not my idea of having a relaxed vacation but it was the time of year we could have expected that.
Staff of the restaurant was very nice and helpfull and tried the best they could. In the end we went out for dinner 3 times so we could have a nice quiet dinner together without getting irritated by the other (small) guests.

All in all our stay in Pra Loup was very nice because it is a nice small skiing village and we had fantastic weather.
We will never visit this hotel again and we wish they will open a 3 or 4 star accomodation in the area of pra loup (there aren't any) so we can go back to enjoy the nice skiing area again.
