“Excellent Quiet Country Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

We stayed here for three nights. Despite being on the through road, on the square opposite the church it was really quiet. Quiet rooms, minimalist decor, comfortable bed. Could have done with some coat hangers though! Breakfast good. Dinner on third evening really good but I don't think I could manage to eat there every night. Restaurant was shut Tuesday and Wednesday so asked for recommendations. Tried both which were also excellent. Good quiet place to stop while seeing from Orleans down past Tours. Has free wifi.

“Warm and friendly atmosphere with excellent service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2009

Our group of 7 couples stayed one night and ate dinner and breakfast at this auberge. The owners and staff went out of their way to meet our needs for rooms and a meeting place. The rooms have been upgraded with modern conveniences (e.g. free Wi-Fi) while maintaining the building's rustic charm. Although located on the main road across from the village church, it is a peaceful and relaxing setting. There was plenty of free parking along side of the church. The food was delicious and the presentations were real works of art. This Inn is located close to Chambord Chateau, but can be a home base to visit many of the other Loire River attractions. Although many of our group spoke French, many of the staff were also fluent in English. We felt it was an excellent value for the money.

“Quaint hotel in French Countryside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2008

Montlivault was difficult to find with my GPS which is surprising because it is a fairly good sized town for the region. I had to call the hotel several times to help with directions and they were able to guide me there. It is a quaint little hotel in a quaint village. Being out in the country, everything closes early, even restaurants serve only until 9PM. We got in about 10PM and hadn't eaten all day and the hotel made us a nice salad with a selection of cheeses and some drinks. It was perfect and we appreciated how they went out of their way to accomodate us. The room was large and had hardwood floors and a large bathroom. The room was perfect except for the ugly draperies and the plain light fixture on the ceiling. The A/C worked very well. Breakfast was not included but where else are you going to go? Still, it was pretty good. The location is very good being close to Chambord which is where we wanted to be and it was nice being able to drive in the beautiful French countryside in the surrounding area.

“Loved La Miason d'a Cote”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2007

What a lovely Inn. The room was comfortable and charming. The food was exceptional. We stayed for two nights and it was the best sleep we had on our entire trip to Europe! We enjoyed talking with Martine and she told my husband that his family name was quite prominent in the area. It was our first trip to France and we couldn't have found a more charming place to stay. The breakfast buffet was excellent and a great way to start our day. We are already planning our next trip to France in 2008 and it will most definitely include at stay at La Maison d'a cote'.

“Delightful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2007

Wonderful stopover point in the Loire Valley.
Our group had 3 beautifully styled, comfortable rooms, to a high standard around an open terrace.
Excellent menu and great service in the obviously popular dining room.
This small hotel with easy parking was a great find for us. The owners made us feel very welcome and we would definitely go out of our way to stay here again. Very highly recommended.
