We spent 11 nights travelling the Loire Valley staying in a different hotel each night. The rooms are small and OK and clean. The receptionist was very stuffy as were all the staff. We had a drink in the bar before dinner and my husband asked for a beer - there was no draft and they only had one bottle of lager from the Loire, no choice at all. This is not what you would expect for a renowned restaurant! We were given a plate of dried up looking apertifes (this is what probably made my husband ill the next day with an upset stomach)! The food was very overrated and the staff all looked frighted for their lives, probably afraid they will loose their jobs if they step out of place. This was one of the worst meals we had over the 11 nights, very expensive, not enough food and we would both not recommend it at all unless of course you like stuffy restaurants with no atmosphere, expensive and very very small portions of food.
