We actually had a confirmed booking with Venere to stay at the nearby Chateua de Brou in Noyant de Touraine. When we arived there was no room for us and a blame game commenced with the hotel blaming the agency etc. Thankfully the hotel managed to get us a room (it was a bank holiday with Parisienes down in droves) in the nearby Les Molieres in Trogues which we reluctantly accepted. When you book a Chateau you only very reluctantly settle for a B&B, especially one at e170 a night, e20 more than the chateau. While we didn't get the opportunity to compare the rooms, I can't imagine the one we missed out on being a patch on the suite we ended up in at Les Molieres. (I am reliably informed that they have cheaper rooms available for earlier bookers.) The suite was fabulous, spacious, modern and beautifully decorated to satisfy the most discerning taste. While it was the wrong time of year to swim, it opened up onto the gardens and pool. The en suite had a double sink and large walk-in shower. We dined in (dinner is served in a large open plan lounge/dining room) and after a couple of glasses of champagne and a fine meal cooked and served by the family we had forgotten the earlier stresses of the day. The bed was fabulously comfortable and a hearty continental breakfast (sounds like an oxymoron but it was excellent and plentiful) sent us off in good spirits.
