We wanted to see the Plitvice Lakes. The lakes are out of the way to visit, but we had read it was worth the effort. There are no luxory choices in the area, so really just needed a bed for the night. House Tina, was clean, the room was spacious and the breakfast was sufficient. We were the only ones at breakfast and so were pleased when they came out and offered to make us scrambled eggs. What was a treat was that it was the least expensive place we stayed our whole two weeks.

It's obvious the Lakes would be amazing, however, during our two week trip, the only day it rained was when we were hiking the lakes. Once you start, there is no easy way back. The rain got worse, and after three hours, we were so soaked, it was as if we had fallen into the lakes. What made it worse, was that one of the trains was not running, and that made the journey back longer.

I am not sure if we would brave going out of the way again unless there could be a guarantee that we would have clear weather..which is not realistic....but things do go wrong when you travel, and you have to make the best of it.

House Tina is in a beautiful spot just up the road from the park. They are very welcoming. The house is very attractive and clean as was our room. Their laundry service is very handy. The breakfast in the morning was ample and just what we needed before our walk around the lake.

The restaurant they recommend down the road is very good.

House Tina is a wonderful B & B. Its clean, has good beds and large rooms. There were travelers from every country there and it was fun to talk with them. The owners and her family were great. There is satellite TV in all the rooms with hundreds of channels in lots of languages. We enjoyed hiking at the Park during the day and watching movies in bed at night. There are many restaurants within walking distance that had great food. The breakfast was delicious and large and served in a wonderful room that is tastefully decorated. The Lakes are nice for one day but lots and lots of tourists. I recommend hiking on the upper lakes where only the hearty go. We met some folks from Spain and from California and had a great time hiking and talking with them.

We stayed for three nights and we absolutely loved it. We had two bunk beds in the room for our two small kids and they were thrilled sleep on the beds. The owner was very nice and courtous. The breakfast was great. The rooms were very very clean and had decorated nicely with modern furnitures. The Plitvice park ( entrance 1 ) is only 6 km away.
We will definitely stay at the same place if we go back next time.
