visited hotel Horizont in late September with half board. Service is excellent, especially the waiters and waitresses who went out their way to make sure that you had a stress-free and relaxing holiday. The food is good, a wide selection of different incidents from different cultures and a section of different cakes and desserts for after. Breakfast was abit bland and boring, the same stuff every day. One of our last nights, there was a wedding reception being held at the hotel; which meant that we got moved from the main dining room - to a small conference room. Because of this there was a poor selection of food for dinner and most of this was cold as there was no way of keeping the food hot. The service was also terrible because of only having 2 waitresses to cater for atleast 50 people at any one time. The wedding reception also took over the entire lobby of the hotel which meant getting in and out was incredibly awkward. The rooms are standard, although the mattresses are rock hard and the pillows gave no support - so unless you like that, you won't get a decent nights sleep! You have a free safe in the hotel room, although we couldn't get ours to work so just used the suitcase and padlocked valuables inside it. The pools are amazing within the hotel, especially indoors which includes water-jets and jacuzzi baths. Baska Voda is beautiful, around a 2hour drive from Split airport, although as we went at the end of September, everything closed down, including the hotel which closes a week after we left. There is a lovely beach bar opposite the hotel, which we spent most of our evenings. One of the best things about this hotel is the proximity of the hotel to the beach! The beach is pebbly so shoes are needed when going in the sea. These can be brought from all of the beach shops around Baska Voda and are fairly priced. I would recommend Horizont and Baska Voda.
