Having enjoyed our previous visit we returned to the hotel for a one week holiday 19 May - 26 May 2007.

Once again we enjoyed first class service in an excellent hotel. The food is superb. The rooms are spacious. The hotel is close to the centre of beautiful fishing harbour of Baska Voda.

The management and staff do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable.

We look forward to our next visit.

We booked the hotel as a last minute deal with Thomson. Seeing the pictures we were a little sceptical.. however, on arrival we were pleasantly surprised. I travel alot in business in the typical Hilton/Marriot type accomodation. I can say that the room quality was very comparable. Clean, modern, spacious and a lovely view of the sea. We were blessed with the weather for late October and had a great time. We walked from Baska to Makaska (around 10km) with the kids and saw... ooo.. about 10 people until will got into town. Stunning, truly stunning scenery and clear, crystal calm waters. We were there for a week and the hotel was great. The staff are friendly and efficient. The chef is excellent and whilst the downside is that you pick your food that morning, the quality was really rather good. Baska was pretty quiet and in wind down mode for the winter.. but we like it like that. For a family of 4, (kids 11 and 9) it was a quality holiday and a very, very reasonable price.

We stayed for two weeks at this hotel from 9th September onwards. We paid extra for a sea view with balcony on the third floor and can truly say that it was well worth the extra money. The location is very good with views over the Island of Brac and Hvar. The hotel provides sun loungers and umbrellas free of charge for the beach which is just opposite the hotel.

The rooms are extremely well furnished and cleaned every day. Every breakfast time you choose from the menu what you would like to eat for your main evening meal which comprises of four courses. The food is excellent, but I would say the only downside is it is either steak, fish or pasta, but saying that the steak we had every night in different forms was truly excellent. What the brochure does not tell you however is that the hotel while it caters for people on half board is open to the general public at night, but hotel guests seem to be served first.

The hotel pool is a let down, two strokes and you reach the opposite end. The Captains Tavern Bar is a waste of space as it is very dark and the only person who seems to use it is the hotel owner, this space would be better used as a lounge as there is no communal areas where guests can sit and chat.

This is the very best hotel in Baska Voda as we checked out the others whilst we were there, is a little more expensive than the others but you get what you pay for in the end.

Unlike the previous reviewer we thought the food was excellent - and I am particular about what I eat!. We were on the a la carte menu so there was a very wide choice. The quality of all the meat was superb - extremely tender. The service was very good - friendly and helpful - all spoke English.
We had a superior room with balcony which was clean and comfortable. Probably best to go up as high as possible to get a view of the sea above the trees.
Didn't like the bar area which was rather dark and dismal so tended to go into the village after dinner.
The swimming pool was a joke!
The hotel is actually situated on the road that runs round the village - traffic noise wasn't an issue but we were sometimes disturbed by people walking by outside - though it was usually quiet by midnight.
Overall a very pleasant hotel and i would be happy to stay there again.
