This hotel is in a lovely position overlooking the sea and views of the mountains at the side and back. The food was excellent and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. But beware, don't ask for a glass of rose wine as they will put a drop of red wine in the glass and top it up with white! They do sell the proper stuff by the bottle though.

The day I arrived I got to my room and it was stifling. I went to turn on the AC unit but nothing happened. I called reception and the owner (I later found out that´s who he was) went into a long explanation about why the AC wasn´t on. They apparently don´t turn it on til the outside temp is over 20 celcius. I then asked if I could have a fan to circulate the air and he put the phone down on me. I called back and asked him politely not to hang up on me again and he said he would come up. He went into the whole explanation again about the AC and when I asked again about a fan he wanted to know why I needed it when I had the door open. His attitude was appallingly condesending.

Well the temp reached about 30 celcius and the AC was never turned on. The owners attitude blighted my whoče stay. It is a real shame because in every other aspect I would have reccommended this hotel. Now I just hope he goes bankrupt.

We stayed here with HF in May and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and eager to help and the food was always impressive, particularly the hot and cold buffet starters.
Baska Voda was scenic and relaxed and the views from the mountains behind were stunning. The sea was a few steps from the hotel and worth a dip even in May.
Weather was a little unpredictable but even when it poured with rain we had an interesting and relaxed afternoon in the Spa at the adjacent hotel.
Would be happy to stay again.

My wife and I stayed here as part of a walking tour with HF Holidays. We stayed in room 403 which was a family style suite (which we did not require) with a reasonably sized bathroom (shower only), a separate large living room with a pull out couch and then a large bedroom with a sloping ceiling. It also had a very, very large terrace with a view of the Biokovo mountains. It had plenty of storage for two persons and there was a free safety deposit box in a wardrobe (just ask reception for a key). The decoration was fairly spartan, particularly in the living room. We had no complaints on the cleanliness of the room and we were comfortable in it.

As we were on an organised tour, we had breakfast and dinner included in our package. We found the wait staff to be very good, especially Helga, the main waitress (perhaps because she spoke the best English of the group, but everyone spoke sufficient English to accommodate those who don't speak Croatian). My wife and I found the food to be generally very good food of a home-cooked, local style rather than some pretentious haute-cuisine. Each day you selected your main course from among a number of choices but there was a chef's special each day which was generally pretty good. Our main criticism was the level of sodium, but we have a low sodium diet at home so are likely more sensitised to this than most. There was a buffet of appetizers including a couple of hot courses plus some salad or salads and some further bits.

The hotel is located across the road from the beach in the small town of Baska Voda. It is a pleasant little resort town but it was already partially shut down for the season by the time we arrived in late September and early October. Baska Voda is well-located on the dDalmatian Coast but isn't the only option to stay here, but the hotel provides a very good experience for what we were doing.
