This hostel is a 3-5 minute walk from most restaurants and the supermarket in Santa Elena, and it provides a nice view over a small valley from the back porch. Our room was clean and well maintained, and the bathroom had new tile, a hot water shower, but no hot water in the sink. The hostess spoke english, provided a decent free breakfast every morning, and set up tours for us.
The only problems we had were that the bed wasn't very comfortable, and the kitchen is closed from 9pm to 6:30am. So if you're starting early in the morning or coming back late you can't cook, and you don't have many options for getting food in town either.
Considering it was only $25/night this is a hostel I would recommend and probably return to, but there a few other places just across the street (such as Cabina's Eddy) worth looking into as well.
