“They couldn't have been more helpful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2010

We arrived without having booked and were greeted with great charm and helpfulness despite our very poor french and resulting communication problems. We were shown various possible rooms, all of which were stunningly beautiful. We chose one of the cheaper options, but this was still large, with beautiful decor and its own loo and bathroom. The central courtyard was full of lush planting and the added bonus of a tame bird of prey. Unfortunately we went down with a tummy bug during the night, (nothing to do with the riad) and so we wanted to stay on for another day and night. Everyone was very helpful and even though our room was booked, we were able to move to another larger and even more luxurious room, at no extra charge.

“Wonderful retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

The Riad is charming, very welcoming, and one would not expect it after walking some of the medina's streets. The contrast is enormous!
Rooms are spacious and nights are quiet.
There a lovely terrace which overlooks the whole medina.
Surely if I go back to Azemmour I'll stay here!

“Experience the real Morocco...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

We are an American family traveling around the world with three young childen in tow (ages 8, 5, 2). We wanted to expose our children to the "real Morocco" which we found in Azemmour, a sleepy little coastal town approximatey 1 hour south of Casablanca. It was easily accessible with a Grand Taxi (approximately $50 each way). Riad Azama is a true gem. It is tucked away in a neighborhood in the old medina. It is lovingly restored with such fine detail and attention to capturing all of the charm and tradition of this 18th century Moroccan house. The rooms are exquisitely decorated with authentic Moroccan furniture and textiles. We stayed in a room with a loft which comfortably accomodated our family of five. The view from the terrace in the evening and during the day is spectacular. We were greeted with delicious mint tea served by a young Moroccan named Bader who also served us our incredibly delicious evening meal and breakfast. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, we were made to feel like special guests with hospitality and charm that is rarely encountered. We were so fortunate to be able to spend some time with Daniel, the owner, who shared his wealth of knowledge of the history of Azemmour. He incidentally speaks excellent English. He wasextremely accomodating from the moment I emailed him until we departed his special inn. On a side note, our daughters left their beloved stuffed animal at the Riad. Daniel personally brought them to us in Casablanca!
It is hard to capture in one small review the essence of this inn or this special town. If you are truly looking for a unique, memorabe experience, look no further. It has been by far, the highlight of our travel thus far. Thank you Daniel.

“A relaxing place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2010

Riad Azama is a place I have wanted to stay at since I lived in Morocco a few years ago. I finally made it for a few days and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It is a quiet and relaxing oasis with banana trees growing in the central courtyard. The rooms are comfortable and restored with traditional Moroccan techniques such as tadelakt, carved plasterwork and tiled floors topped with carpets. The terrace is a great place from which to watch locals go about their everyday life or alternatively a place to sit back and relax. I had one evening meal at the riad and had a wonderful chicken and vegetable tagine with apricots. With Azemmour a place that sees few tourists, Riad Azama is an ideal stopoff or base to explore the surrounding area.
