Firstly I would like to thank Jacquie and Mike for the lovely stay we had in your welcoming home last weekend. It's great staying in a place that you look forward to returning to after a long day out, it becomes part of the whole holiday experience. J&M are great hosts and their Highland hospitality is second to none. Everything was so nice and high quality we actually wondered at one point if we had got the price wrong and it was £80 pppn rather than per room! Strawberries in the room, chocolates by the bed, quality toiletries, fridge with water and fresh milk, large flat screen tv and sky, soft towels and bathrobes, breakfast to die for! I planned on trying the eggs benedict on day 2 but after the amazing cooked breakfast on day one I just couldn't tear myself away. Thank you to you both, loved the ketchup and hope you get to see the Panda's at Edinburgh! we will be back, from Ben and Stacy x
Area tips: Glen Hotel in Newtonmore does a good two meals for £25 offer with starters and includes a bottle of wine - google them for pictures. If coming on the train from Edinburgh consider getting the train to the next stop - Kingussie - and getting your taxi there. This could well save you having to change trains at Perth, and the local taxi is based in Kingussie anyway, only 3 miles from Newtonmore (All trains to Inverness seem to stop at Kingussie, only some stop at Newtonmore). Kingussie is only 3 miles away so can be walked easily along a great path/cycle track, if you only want to do it one way get the bus back as that stops much closer to Ard-na-Coille than the train. The bus to Aviemore takes about 30 mins and cost us £10.30 each return. It made a really nice change to leave the car at home, we came up from Hull and the public transport system in Scotland is so good you don't need a car to get around
