“Beautiful house and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

The house is spacious and immaculately clean and tidy. There's a welcoming wood burner alight in the hall. There are alcoves on the wide staircase when you can settle down with a book from their library.
It's a short distance to visit the stunning Highland Wildlife Park in Kincraig. There you can see a playful polar bear, tigers, wolves, reindeer, wild cats and lots more (including "the best view in Scotland"!).
We went on the Wildcat Walk behind Coig na Shee, and although it was pouring with rain it was very exciting and scenic.

Room Tip: The Larches is spacious with a big bay window, a comfy warm bed and good sized bathroom.

Dear Franniesib Many thanks for your review of Coig na Shee, and my apologies for not replying sooner, my 'New Year Resolution'! We really endevour to provide somewhere that we'd want to stay ourselves and pleased to hear that you enjoyed the house and its surroundings, albeit a slightly damp outdoors. I remember you had a great day at the Wildlife Park and saw Walker, the polar bear, in action. Best wishes to the family. Regards Marion and Graeme

“Cosy and smart B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

We randomly chose this guest house from the internet site as it looked quite smart.
Given recent hoo-ha in the UK about guest houses not having same-sex couples as guests, I emailed to ask and got a lovely reply - we were, of course, most welcome.
The bedroom we stayed in was smart, comfortable, and warm, given the below-zero (centigrade) temperatures and the snow, that was quite important!
The owners, Graeme and Marion, are lovely and the breakfast was possibly the best I've ever seen at a B&B. The cooked breakfast included *choice* (how about that!) and there was lots of lovely fresh fruit on offer.
Great location, good prices, and recommended.

“Superb :)”

This was our second visit to Coig Na Shee. We had wanted a quiet and relaxing weekend and we got exactly that here.
The Firs is an excellent size room with a great big bathroom.
Graeme and Marion have created a lovely feel and friendly atmosphere in their guest house. Everything - cleanliness, decor, toiletries, breakfast - all top notch.

Tips for food in Newtonmore - The Glen Hotel and the Letterbox both good. Book in advance in case they are busy.

We were impressed with Coig Na Shee. We went with English friends that had stayed there before and had spoken very highly of the place, the house, the food, the ambiance and accomodations.
It surpassed our expectations.
We would like to recommed this lovely little 'chateau'!
Congratulations to the owners, Marion and Graem!

A very comfortable guest house in Newtonmore, very impressive building a short walk from the high street. Very quiet, big rooms, excellent breakfasts, warm welcome. Handy for the Wildcat trail around the village. Recommended!

Room Tip: Room faced over the garden and watching the red squirrels very entertaining!
