We stayed at Forest View for 2 night in room 2. The room was smaller than we had expected but had everything you could of asked for. The food is great and very reasonable
We were wanting somewhere to relax and spend some alone time together for our 10th wedding anniversary, We are so happy that we decided to visit Symonds Yat and stay at Forest View. The position of the Guest House is the best on this side of the river as you are away from all the noise of the pubs and have the peace and views.

We stayed at Forest View for 5 nights in Room 3 which must be the room with the best views looking up and down the river Wye. We had stayed there previously and did not know what to expect with a change of owners. However, we were so pleased to find that Jill and John had built upon the already high standards with nothing being too much trouble for them to ensure that you enjoyed your stay. The provision of a well priced evening menu now being available meant that you did not have to leave the Guest House to search out a place to eat making the evening more relaxed. The walks out from the Forest View cater for all tastes with the arduous climp to Symonds Yat Rock and it's spectacular views or the gentle riverside stroll for the less adventurous. There are numerous palces to visit in close proximity to Symonds Yat again catering for all tastes. If you are looking for a relaxing break with the best views in the area then Forest View is the place to stay.

This was a four-night "break" using Forest View as a base from which to tour the area. Position overlooking the River Wye and proximity to Symonds Yat Rock were major attractions when booking. In the event, the uninterrupted view over more than a mile of the river was even better than expected, and our room was large and comfortable. Gill and John were friendly, welcoming and highly efficient hosts, the breakfasts were excellent (with a wide choice) and it was really good (in rather wet weather!) to have such good home-cooked evening meals available on site. Strongly recommended.

My husband and I have just stayed for 2 hard earned nights away from our little ones. I spent so long looking for somewhere that was peaceful but beautiful, and I can honestly say we were not disappointed. The first thing we noticed after the fantastic scenery was how friendly and welcoming the owners were. It wasn't until we were leaving that we discovered they had only been running the place a matter of weeks! The guest house is lovely and cosy, the rooms are extremely spacious and the views are fabulous. There are many walks on the doorstep along the rivers edge or climbing up to the stunning views. The pub next door, The Saracens Head, do exceptional meals. Unfortunately the river was too high for the boats or the hand pulled ferries to be running so we are determined to come back when the weather is a little more friendly. Sadly the weekend went by far too fast. We will definitely be coming back, sooner rather than later. The only small niggle we had was the sausages for breakfast. The rest of the breakfast was lovely but the sausages were bog standard frozen "bread" sausages. This is the only thing we could possibly say needs improvement. Otherwise fabulous!
