Stopped here for a few weeks whilst working at the nearby shipyard. It's a nice hotel, the rooms are quite minimalist but are very comfortable and clean, mine could have done with a bit of paint on one wall however.
The overall experience is let down by poor standards sadly. Breakfast is pretty poor, be late down at your peril as what's out stays out and when it's gone it's gone. I had a late breakfast this morning after weeks of being down at 7am prompt and there was hardly anything left and all the
tables had just been left from previous diners, I had to clear a table myself to sit at.
The same is true of the food in the restaurant in the evening, frankly it's terrible from what I've tried of it. The starters seem to come in portions big enough to feed a small third world country leaving you over full for your main, from my experience of the mains though you probably will want to eat all your starter. The steak with cheese on is terrible, I tried the pork and it was very undercooked and fatty and the lamb is quite nasty. Everything is clearly served a la ding where possible.
There is a nice little cafeteria area when you can chill out that gets quite busy with locals at times, this is the best bit of the experience really.
Could be a great place, let down by terrible food and poor attention to detail. There is a supermarket just down the road, cashpoint opposite and plenty of place very close by to eat at though.
