My partner and I were desperate for a last minute deal holiday for my 21st , this seemed like an excellent deal in a "3 star hotel" for a full board package , so we snapped it up whilst it lasted....HOWEVER.... on arrival to the hotel we were greeted by a not-so-friendly receptionist who spoke very minimal English, which proved to be quite a challenge when it came down to explaining our meal cards. We were then given our room keys and pointed into the direction of the lifts, there was no basic etiquette of asking if we were OK with our bags but by this point we just wanted to get into our room. The room was mediocre, lovely view of the sea and the *air con was probably the best thing going for it. beds are highly UNCOMFORTABLE, like sleeping on concrete and I highly recommend on taking your own pillow. Hotel food is ...ok... but absolutely nothing special, very repetitive and it all looks abit grey! Malgret de Mar is fab itself and i also reccommend taking a walk into the old town, alot less touristy and loads of beautiful little tiny streets!. *The one major MAJOR disappointment i had with the hotel was after two days the air con wasnt working, we went down to the reception as we thought at this point it was a maintenance issue but we are told that it had been SWITCHED OFF with absolutley no reason as to why! as you can imagine my partner and i were not happy!! i would as a suggestion stay here on a room only basis because if you look around you can eat and drink for far far less than what you pay for a full board package . Russians seem to love this place however i'm not sure that the British would appreciate it to much.
