returned on the 1st oct after an 11 night stay at the luna park.our group consisted of 2 adults,2 17 year olds and a 13 year old(only english under 18's in the whole hotel). check in was painless and we were in our room within 10 minutes of arrival, our rooms were basic but fine as we were always out. hot water, extra pillows and always clean, the maid was very good, ..perfect location, close to all amenities but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of nightlife when we didn't want it. until!!!! the raves started on friday and saturday night in the car park opposite the hotel and ended about 7 am, this appeared to be locals doing what locals do at the weekend,,lost some sleep those nights...staff,, what a shame, we've been to spain on many an occasion and it's a shame to say that some of the staff here let their fellow countrymen down, the worst being the bar staff... if you were not all inclusive and paying cash you were fine, if you tipped you were fine, if you were'nt english you were fine, i ended up complaining to the management after being ignored for 10 minutes because the people around me were tipping, the bar staff(except the middle aged guy with glasses)would thank every other nationality in their language but all the brits got was, you're welcome in spanish!! they were rude, ignorant, and selfish. after the complaint and the staff were talked to they couldn't do enough for us, however it went too far and they started giving the kids ice cream in tea cups instead of the small black tubs they would use normally...at times very childish.forget booking trips with the tour operator, we took the bull by the horns and made the trip to barcelona on the seafront train and saved a fortune, managed to see camp neu and the sagrada familia for about 50 euros cheaper than the tour operator, much more fun and the barelonians were very helpful when we got lost!! beautiful city!! the food was ok, you have to be a bit daring, not everything was labelled but we tried it anyway and were presently surprised most of the timeexcept for deserts, losts of hundrends and thousands to make things look a bit different, the boys had plenty to choose, the pasta dish was different every day, burgers and chips etc, lots of fish, salads, paella, breakfast was good too, with the chef cooking eggs how you wanted them.drinks were very good, local brands but as good as at home.the pool was good, but freezing, so we used the indoor pool and jacuzzi every day, had it to ourselves alot. evening entertainment?? very basic,,and as for daytime entertainment, there wasnt any, we were asked if we would like to go to pineda for a bike ride at 11am, looked at the time and it was 11am,, a little bit late!! saw 1 aerobics class by the pool and that was it....3 days before we left we were given a list of activities in spanish?? overall the resort suited us all, enough for all ages, the beach was ok,(within 10 mins)the hotel as a base was fine, the tour operator we went with have apparently pulled out of this hotel because of complaints, however all they needed to do was fire certain staff, re-employ explaining that the english are no different to any other nationality and it would have been perfect... 1 warning, if you have difficulty walking or with steps this may not be the hotel for you, there is no lift down to the restaraunt, the staff will carry you down( a little humiliating). we witnessed on our last day an elderly lady fall down the stairs to the restaraunt and ending up in hospital, there are no toilets either near the pool or bar unless you go down a flight of stairs, once again no lift..
