Quite a noisy hotel due to proximity to the motorway but a typical Parador in that it is comfortable (although the double bed was very small !) and the food in the restaurant was very good. The bar manager (Carmello Diaz on his name badge) was rude and thoroughly unpleasant who should really consider his career options. He spoiled what could have been a pleasant enough stay.

The noise problem can be overcome by requesting a room at the Reception end of the hotel -- 103, on the first floor is where we stayed last time. This is a very functional parador, with friendly helpful staff. Other reviewers share my belief that this is an excellent stopping-off point on the journey from northern Spain to the south coast (where we live). Probably stayed three times in this parador. Food is OK -- not much on offer in the town itself.

This Parador makes for a very convenient stop when looking for a spot to spend the night. It is literally just off the highway. This makes it easy to find but it unfortunately means that you get constant highway noise. It is OK for one night but I would not stay there for a longer stay. We made our reservations over the phone the night before as we needed a place to stop on our way to Catalunya and this worked well for us.

The room was quite nice and of a good size with a good up-to-date bathroom. We did not spend time on the large balcony - because of the highway noise. Staff was friendly enough but did not speak any French or English when we checked in.

We ate dinner in the bar and was pleased with the food and service - good value. We liked the choice and quality of the buffet breakfast.

This is a convenient and professionally run hotel, but not a quiet country spot as you might first believe. Because of time constraints, we did not want to stay too much away from the highway so this was OK for our purposes.
