We stayed at the Casa Luis during October half term as we had read really good reviews and had never been to Ibiza before.
Sadly, as it was the final week of the holiday season (we didn't even know that Ibiza is only a summer venue), everything was closed. The travel agent did not make us aware of this and the rep (who actually went home at the end of her season before our holiday had finished) didn't seem to be aware of it when we had our introduction meeting. She made reference to the snack bar and the restaurant, both of which were closed during our stay.
The friendliness of Luis, his family and his staff was excellent but there wa nothing there for us to do.
The hotel is situated quite a way out of town, a good ten minute walk for reasonable walkers, but the fact that everything at the hotel was closed meant that a walk into town was necessary even for the simplest of things we wanted to buy and for all but one restaurant. The restaurant at the corner of the road on which Casa Luis is situated is excellent and probably the best we visited yet quite expensive. The romanian waitress there added to how good the service as well as the food was yet if the hotel restaurant had been open, as we had anticipated, we may have dined there at least a few times.
We stayed self catering but the apartment, which was very good in most other respects, was poorly equipped to cater for ourselves. I made one attempt to cook breakfast but after spending almost 15 minutes trying to fry bacon and sausages on a very poor hob, we again had to travel into town or beyond to dine.
While the food we did eat was very good, as it was the last week of the season, even the restaurants were running out of things.
The hotel nor even the travel agent can be blamed for the weather but as it wasn't as good as we anticipated, the other issues with the hotel didn't help particularly as we had to go elsewhere to eat in a thunderstorm!
I think the trip has clouded our view of the island and I can only assume that during the high season this would be an excellent veue for families. For us, it was not!
