We stayed for three nights at Les Terrasses, 5km outside Santa Eulalia on the Eivissa road, after our booked hotel failed to live up to expectations. What a find. The main part of the hotel is old, charmingly furnished and quite quirky in a very tasteful way. The rooms, some in the main hotel but most dotted around the terraced grounds, are delightful: a good size, they are well designed and attractively decorated with painted furniture and paint effect walls.
In the extensive gardens there are two pools with loungers, as well as quiet corners among the abundant vegetation.
We had one meal inside - unfortunately it was raining and the beautifully lit terrace awash - and the food was excellent. Breakfasts were a slight disappointment however: basic continental, with fruit, ham etc costing extra. Les Terrasses is famous for its cous-cous nights on Tuesdays, when more than 100 people can be spread around the grounds.
The staff could not have been more helpful, particularly Frederique, who looked after us splendidly. Our stay was all the more enjoyable as we managed to cut a deal for our room, which would have otherwise been empty.
A car is essential for Les Terrasses, but both Santa Eulalia and Eivissa are within easy reach.
If we return to Ibiza we will definitely stay at Les Terrasses.
