I have just read a review by the mother of the honeymooners and as I was a witness to some of this, feel the need to clarify for the benefit of readers, to put this into context:

The couple, (the female seeming very young) told us about her disappointment with there being no flowers or champagne in their room. They also said they had no hot water.

However, unless a payment for extras had been paid, we felt this was very unrealistic, given this is classed as basic accommodation and is under 9.00 a night. We were at reception and did not hear them ask for change of room due to cold water. We changed our apartment once, and both of them offered plenty of hot water. We were not charged for watching tv as described in the review.

Reception staff could not be more helpful, pleasant or kind. Duarte was we thought, very patient and helpful with the couple asking questions about what went on, "was there any activities like jet ski-ing or other watersports". Wearing a maxi dress and flip flops, she explained that they really wanted to be in egypt, "but mum didnt want them to go there because of the troubles". Understandable perhaps, but there is a world of difference between a red sea holiday and a winter off season break to Algarve in a quiet area at 9.00 per night!!! Not egypt prices for all inclusive luxury. Therefore the break was unsuitable for their expectations. We tried to give some tips and offered a lift to the casino at night if we saw them about, which they politely thanked us for the help.

Just wanted to put this into perspective for others reading and making their minds up, as that is what we do and what this site is for. However, things can sometimes be put on here that are totally misleading.

We bought our own flowers in the supermarket, 4.00 euros being the cheapest. And sparkling wine for a few euros. So you can see that if they expected this free, this would have cost more than the price of the room.
