Couldn't resist going back to the Alvormar for the second time. As other reviewers have stated, the location is perfect for those who want to be close to the centre of the village. We had a first floor apartment on the corner of the building this time and the bedroom was huge.

The new kitchenette was great and once again everything worked! No problems with light switches, door locks, shower pressure etc. We also noticed that a fair amount of maintenance work had been done in the atrium; newly painted stairs and handrails for example.

It's great to see that the owners are not sat back and relying on the good location and are looking to continuously improve the property. We'll be back.

Returned for the 5th time in July 2011 for our main holiday to find the apartments had been kitted out with new kitchens as well as having the usual routine maintenance done as always.

These apartments are in a great location, quiet but near all the amenities in Alvor Town and within 10 minutes walk to the superb beach. They are well laid out with a nice garden area, a small pool and snack bar and both the apartments and the communal areas are kept spotless, with maid service 6 times per week. The apartments are comfortable, spacious and well equipped if you want to self cater rather than eat out in the town. The decor is a little dated, however the laid back vibe and the cleanliness in the apartments more than makes up for this.

Looking forward to our next visit.

Just stayed here for a short half-term break and was pleasantly surprised. Situated in a quiet street but five minutes walk from everything you could possibly want, including a mini-market over the road (if you're lucky enough to catch it open), a larger supermarket a bit further on and dozens of bars and restaurants.

We were lucky enough to be allocated a 2 bedroom apartment (just the two of us) and it was huge - massive living room/dining area, separate kitchen/diner, and two balconies. The staff were friendly and helpful and overall it was a great stay.

The beach is a bit of a trek but there is a network of long connecting walkways and it is a pleasant walk. And the effort is worth it - the beach is huge and practically empty, although what it'd be like in the summer I don't know.

Alvor is an ideal holiday destination - this was our third visit. OK, the Alvormar could do with a freshen-up and Alvor is a bit of a drag from Faro Airport but I will definitely be going back.

We stayed here in May & Sept. In May we came for a week but ended up staying for three as my son was admitted into hospital for 17 days. I can only say that Mr. Virgilio,Tony and Margarida were absolutely brilliant for us, organising another room for us to stay in for the extra 2 weeks we were there and their genuine concern about our son`s health. We can`t thank them enough. We returned in September and had a lovely, less stressful holiday. As a cheeky request we asked for a room in the garden with the sun loungers on our balcony,which was granted without hesitation.This was our seventh time in Alvor and we just can`t get enough of the place,so it`s Alvormar again 2012
