Myself and boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights from 27th to the 30th December as part of an ActivityBreaks.com skiing package. From the moment we stepped off the plane until we left, the hotel owners and staff couldn't do enough for us. Mr. Spampatti met us off the plane just outside the arrival gates with a sign and within the hour we were at the hotel and checked in. Then Mr. Spampatti brought us the short distance to pick up out boots and ski's and after a bit of lunch in the hotel we walked literally across the road to the slopes of Presolana. Just to give some info on the slopes, there are 2 different ski areas accessible from this hotel, Presolana and Monte Pora. Presolana is smaller and more basic whilst Monte Pora is bigger, more of a resort, with a better selection of runs. Whilst we were there, we got no snow so not all runs we're open. This meant that in Presolana there was only one red open which can get boring. We stayed for 3 nights so we were expecting a half day skiing for our arrival day and then two full days skiing but our flight on the last day wasn't till late so Danka in the hotel sorted out our passes to give us an additional half day on our last day so we were still skiing up until a few hours before our flight. Our first and last day (half days) were spent on the Presolana slopes and the two full days we went to Monte Pora. We didn't really enjoy the last half day in Presolana after the better slopes in Monte Pora but again that's a personal choice and it didn't help that most of the slopes weren't open due to the lack of snow. Getting to Monte Pora is easy because transport to and back is provided by the hotel as part of the package and the journey is only about 15 minutes. We would ski from 10 till 4 and have a few drinks before being picked up at 5, but the hotel are very flexible about drop off and pick up times. The hotel rooms themselves are typically Italian, basic but spotlessly clean. After our first night, Mrs. Spampatti asked whether my boyfriend had slept ok since he is tall but the bed had a metal frame across the bottom. He said no that he felt a bit twisted and she immediately organised that we were changed to another room with a different bed. As regards food in the hotel, the breakfast is basic, croissants, cakes, breadrolls etc but it's all good quality and plenty of it. We didn't go for the all inclusive option but we had lunch and dinner in the hotel twice because it was so good. Hats off to Max in the kitchen because the food was fantastic and in a different league to other ski hotels I've stayed in in Italy. The food was definately restaurant standard as opposed to hotel standard. Around the hotel there isn't much in the way of bars or restaurants but the hotel will happily provide their minibus as a taxi service to drop you off to the centre of the town which is very pretty and has a decent few bars and restaurants. Overall, I can't complement the hotel and staff enough. Danka went out of her way for us and both herself and her sister are constantly working away to make sure everyone is looked after. Again, the food is excellent and Mr. And Mrs. Spampatti definately push the ethos that the customer comes first. This was one of the easiest and most stress free short breaks we have ever taken because the hotel went out of their way to do everything possible for us.
