“Mixed experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

We had an interesting four night stay at this hotel. It is a nice place with lovely gardens and patio areas. The room was comfortable and clean. On arrival the main reception staff were very friendly and interested in us and where we came from - it didn't appear that they had had many brits staying there. However, having been persuaded by the staff to sample the hotel restaurant we were then left disappointed and things changed. It was a four course meal for 24 euros which sounds good value. However the portions were tiny and frankly the food was not good. The main course was a cold what appeared to be undercooked sausage with cold potatoes. We did complain and to be fair the hotel did not charge us for the food. However it took them two days to confront us about our bad dining experience and during this time the relationship seemed to turn somewhat frosty which made us feel a little uncomfortable. There is no real bar area and you have to go up to a hatch to a somewhat surly looking girl who speaks no english to get a drink. After our dining experience we opted to eat and drink in the town (see my further comments about restaurants). Vulcano is an interesting place to visit and I would recommend this hotel for its location and cleanliness but don't eat there! Breakfast was also disappointing with just a limited cold buffet. Italians seemed to be offered hot food but this did not happen to us until our last day!

“A good hotel with a nice pool and beach access. Delicious food and beautiful rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

The hotel offered very nice rooms which were very confortable. The food served in the evening was delcious and allowed you chose between a selection of italian products. Breakfast was rather good too. The hotel offered access to the beach and sea. The sea was amazing as there were numerous hot thermal springs. The hotel is situated on the beautiful island of volcanoe where there are numerous natural attractions to visit and lots to do.

“Elegant, Luxury, Romantic, PERFECT.”

Eolian Islands are, definitely, the best place I've ever seen in my life. Volcano, especially, seems to be the most beautiful island. Gorgeous sea, beaches, places. The Eros Hotel is an amazing structure: elegant in each detail (rooms, swimming pool, beach, etc.). The restaurant is incredible: an amazing chef and the best italian cuisine I've ever had. My girlfriend is very strict in this kind of judgements and she was so enthusiast after our first dinner...(we experienced very famous italian restaurants like Enoteca Pinchiorri, Marchesino, Cracco and I can say the eros one might be considered among these!). Great wines (last night we ordered Chateau Margaux!!!), great staff, great people!!!

Thank you guys, my trip was amazing!

“Great atmosphere! Whonderful stay~.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2011

Hotel Eros is a place where you can really relax. The pool is clear and big, the sea is right in front of the hotel and staff is whondeful. Pietro's cooking for sure is the best and all the waitresses are smiling and trying to help you as much as they can. In this Hotel you can try their self made oil, which is extremly good. We ate it with a bread for every breakfast and before the main dishes for dinner. There is also a possibility to go for snorkling and this trip is really worth it's price. The captain and the owner of the hotel is a very nice person who try to help you with all the problems and make your stay as good as it is possible.

We don't know when but for sure some day we will come back there.

“Don't waste your time and money!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2010

I went on vacantion to this 4 star hotel with my mom as it was highly recommended by a friend of us and also for the therapeutic effects of the famous mud of the island. Morover, the reviews at tripadvisor were pretty good. Unfortunately not all that shines is gold!
At our arrival we were assigned a suite room as booked, which by the way is the only one available at the hotel. The room is nice and cozy but the sofa bed is old, stained and not at all usefull to sleep in it. We asked to be able to sleep separately as requested in our booking (confirmation given to us by phone) so they first offered us a different sleeping solution which consisted in 2 rooms in a cottage near the swimming pool(at the same price booked) When we entered the room was tini tiny and walking in with a big suitacase was already a problem, as whe opened the small window in the bathroom a big insect fell in - OK been close to the garden some encounter with insects is possible but if the closing of the window is quite impossible then you will sleep with opened eyes. Not happy with this solution we asked to be moved back to the previous room, which they did and they also brought a matress to fill in the sofa bed, so we stayed in this room. The sliding doors from the room to the terrace don't close well so the insects problem wasn't solved at all!! The property itself is quite nice, the swimming pool not so big but the beach is just in front of the hotel and another one on the opposite direction at walking distance. What is really appalling is the restaurant. Menu and pricing nowhere to be found. The waiter told us what we could eat by heart and so it was for all our stay. Every time we asked to show us the menu the answer was that it was in "working progress" ... no eating choice at all - every day the same old story - We were forced to go down the harbour to buy some fresh fish and ask to cook it for us ... At last but not least, when we told the director that for family problem (an accident occured to a family member that was in our home country) we had to leave in advance, she aswered us that the rule was to pay for the all vacation, meaning that for 3 days of our staying there we had to pay 15 days as booked. At our denial and request of having a copy of this hotel policy (which was nowhere to be seen when normally you find it on the back of each room door) and treatening of law suite by our lawer, she agreed of letting us pay the 3 days stay plus a penalty of 3 more (which is the well known rule everywhere).
This is not only a fraud but a bad advertisement to all hotel in the island!
