we booked this through booking.com after reading reviews there. this was a good stopoff for us because we were going to the Marksburg Castlw. we had a family room (2 bedrooms). it had a view of the castle AND the Rhine out the same window. only drawback was the trains going by every few minutes. we did sleep really well despite that. there is no lift! so we just took our small bags up to the 3rd floor. the restaurant serves Italian fare and we ate there because it was still open late. the terrace was laced with grapevines (and grapes on them) with a view of the Rhine. This is one of the cruise stopoff points. actually the food was really very good, the proprietors are Italian. Braubach is a cute town but a little off the main touristy part closer to Rudesheim. do go to Marksburg its well restored with a great view. skip the gift shop and buy an original old document from the private purveyor on your way out. it's easy to miss near the exit it but do stop in at least to look at the interesting documents for sale and what a unique souvenir.

The hotel was nothing special, but simply for a place to stay at good value it was exactly what we were looking for.
